I will either have Foal's Bread finished tonight or tomorrow for F6 but it will be in time for the end of battleships. I'm going to do a quick audio while I'm at work tomorrow as well. I see someone else is reading Anne of Green Gables so there is no point in me reading it as well.

Like Kathleen, I sworn off reading Karin Slaughter books after Pretty Girls. I rarely give one star rating but this book was truly disgusting for me. Explicit and extreme violence was too much for my taste to bear.

It's Looking for Alaska by John Green and At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen. I have no intention of joining, just want to hear maybe a different perspective on At the Water's Edge. I enjoyed Water for Elephants but I dragged myself through At the Water's Edge.

It really is! Olympics, based on the rules, will involve a lot of planning. I think it will also involve willingness to read books outside our usual genre. Haha tough one. Our mods are so creative!
Do we need to finish the books in relay chain also in order or it doesn't matter as long as we start on July 1st?
Check Event 3... I think we could prolly start with event 3 while doing event 1 because we need to complete all Heats 1-4 in Event 3 to unlock the other Event Heats.Olympics rules allow 1 reader to read all books for event heat 1 and 2 as long as other members are also reading for Olympics.
No need Skandia. ▲ Books do NOT need to be read in order, but you only get points for books in order.
For example, If you are trying to read a 5 book relay of: Another Day / Day After Night / Night Heat / Heat it Up / Up Up Up and you do not read "Night Heat" by the end of the Olympics round (July 21st) then your team will only receive 10 points for the first 2 books read, and no points for reading Heat it Up or Up Up Up, and nothing for the 7 book relay.

We need books with arms in them! Haha I know for sure a lot of romance books have got them!
We need to finish 8 books for Event 1 in order to unlock Event 2. When we unlock Event 2, we can work on both Events 2 and 3 at the same time. I made a sample list. Haha peruse with caution.
Or maybe we set up a spreadsheet for Olympics too where everybody has access? Will it make it easier for book suggestions?
GIRL is a pretty easy word to make a chain ...Can we use plurals also or does the word have to be exact match?
I'm torn! I'm excited but logic is asking me how am I going to manage work and challenge? Lol. I find I love my challenges too much!

Nice! I can read Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Another option for number 3 is You Against Me but that book is 400+ and as Im not the fastest reader I would prefer to keep the books I read around 200-300 that way I can contribute more.

Make sure you look over the requirements the arm. They're fairly strict.
"For ARM: A full arm MUST be visible. You MUST be able to see full hand (no hands in pocket or tucked under a shirt) and most of the fingers (more than 3) need to be visible."

There's some examples in there too.
I haven't read the rules yet. But I have quite a few books with a full arm on them (using the three+ finger criteria).I think that's what I should focus on? The relay seems too tricky to me.

I think everyone in the team needs to read at least one book for the relay Kimberley
Also I dont think we can start reading books for the next event before we finish the first two heats of the relay

Ok. We'll need to do some serious planning then! I'll read the rules today. I'll finish NYPD Red 2 before the deadline and will add it's details when I'm home tonight. I'm pretty sure it can be used for mystery, if nothing else.

Couldn't use for the four word title as you've already read for the first task. Fits perfectly for B-1 - read a book shelved as mystery by at least 10 people :)
