Lori Clark (clarklori) | 2 comments About 2 years ago, I finished writing a YA book called Breaker. I had a lot of interest from agents but there was something lacking which kept the book from landing me an agent.

I had a few suggestions about what I could do to make it a better book. I'm just not sure how to begin.

It is about 65k words. Here is the blurb:

Seventeen-year-old Molly Hatfield's killer voice earned her a spot in her high school's prestigious Glam Club. She sings her heart out night after night, but just once she wishes everyone would recognize her talent and not close their ears when the fat girl takes center stage.

When her mother dies, her father insists she fly to Breaker Beach to spend the summer with relatives. While there, she begins to suspect her best friends Preston and Abi are hooking up behind her back. Maybe it wouldn’t sting so much if she hadn’t just locked lips with him moments before her flight took off. Now she wonders why she told him he’s too young for her.

While on the island Molly is diagnosed and treated for an underactive thyroid and the pounds start to melt away along with some of her self-loathing. When she decides to compete in a vocal contest in memory of her mom, she’s determined to not only prove she deserves top billing in Glam Club but win back Preston’s heart while she’s at it.

BREAKER is a contemporary romance for young adults.

I would love to epublish the book, but obviously, want people to think it's worth reading, too.

If anyone is interested in beta-reading it, let me know. I have it in word docx only at this time.

You can email me at Lorielle11@gmail.com or pm me.

Thanks!
