Need help with book Title

I need help again. I am looking for a book wherein chapter 1 starts with boy convincing girl to jump into a river to escape foster home or her own home ( dont remember exactly) due to abuse and voilence. They both love each other and are trying to run away from home.Boy convinces girl to jump and tells her that he will join her later. The girl after alot of heartbreak jumps into the river and boy goes back to the house but something happens ( some conspiracy) and he didnt managevto escape and catch up with the girl.
Thats all i remember. And yes its a second chance romance.
