Ending (view spoiler)[First of all, my heart broke for Tobiah.. he lost his kingdom then James.. I wanted to give him a hug. As for him being a radiant, I was not surprised.. I think it was held of for too long..

But I'm bothered by something, Wil said to Tobiah that he stopped writing while I clearly remember her stopping the enchantment of the notebook before (or after I'm not sure) the attack on the indigo kingdom.. How's that?

This book felt meh! it wasn't something great.. there was more talk than action.. The wraith stuff weren't given proper explanation.. I felt it become something too big for the author to handle.. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't see him being a radiant at all and God, it frustrated me how late in the series it was revealed. He could have been doing so much with his powers!

I think she stopped the enchantment because he wasn't writing. It had been months or weeks or something since he'd written back to her. He hadn't written to her because he wanted everyone to think he was dead and she took the bait - deciding that him not responding was a sign that he was truly dead (and not missing/lost like she previously though) and stopped the notebook's enchantment... which was pretty stupid.

I'm pretty upset with it too. The wraith stuff was NOT solved and that's just annoying... It was also pretty boring. Glad we can agree! (hide spoiler)]

I might feel more anxious if I was worried he was going to die, but the book is about the Mirror King so I'm pretty confident that he will live. Especially since we still don't know exactly how James healed. I am suspicious that there might be another flasher in the court, but who?? (hide spoiler)]

Pg 230 - (view spoiler)[ Ah SNAP! Ok, so I fully admit that earlier in the books, I was still confusing Meredith and Chey. I thought he was marrying the nasty one and not the nice one. It wasn't until she was about to say "I Do" and the wraith boy showed up that I realized that I really liked Meredith. I know I said at the end of book one that I hoped she would die to pave the way for Tobiah and Wil to be together, but I didn't think it would go down quite like this! I think it will be very difficult for them to come back from this one. (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[ I'm feeling a little cheated here. It is the end of the duology but there are so many things left unresolved. I mean the barrier is working and seems to be spreading a little, but they even thought it would only buy them some time, not fix the problem. Every time they use magic, more wraith is created so until they figure out how to convert it somehow, the wraith problem has NOT been fixed. Neither has the treatment of radiants in the kingdoms. Even the Black Knife's role in society hasn't been resolved (are they just going to run around every night in their kingdoms??) It's as if the author gave us the happy ending to the romantic plot and thought we would just be so happy that we would forget all the other subplots??

I really liked these characters, and the books overall. I just feel a little cheated by the ending. You? (hide spoiler)]
