Really good so far!! I started last night and I'm nearly finished already

Listening to it on CD in my car. My commute is not long enough to work so this will take some time (although I have the book at home). On disc 3 (about page 80-90ish) and waiting for some action. But I am enjoying the story so far.

Finished it the other day. I think it was a massive improvement over The Infinite Sea, although given how much I didn't like that one, it would be hard to be worse.

I'm about to start it but decided to re-read the others first since a ton of reviews suggested it. I rated the first book 5 stars, but wasn't impressed with The Infinite Sea and rated it three. I'm glad I am not the only one who was disappointed with that one. I read it instead of listening to the audiobook this time and bumped it up to a 3 1/2. I hope this one is as good as everyone keeps saying!

I liked this one even less that The Infinite Sea. I didn't even give it a full 3 stars. The ending did suck. (view spoiler)[I loved Cassie in The 5th Wave and never liked Ben or Ringer, but they get to live and she doesn't?! I was so mad when she's like I can't believe I'm leaving my blood behind to save a boy, oh well. The back and forth human/alien/human/alien stuff drove me nuts, too (hide spoiler)]

I agree with a lot of you that it was definitely more interesting than The Infinite Sea.

The Last Star is fast paced and has a lot of action, but also has plenty of humor and sarcasm, which makes it easier to read.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending yet. I wanted to have closure and that was not the case. At least the most important parts are wrapped up nicely, though.

I don't think any of that was explained fully and it made less sense with each book. When the second book was ending I thought he would reveal that there weren't really aliens, it was just humans given the 12th system.
(view spoiler)[The ending was the worst because I felt like Cassie died for nothing. Yeah she blew up one "mothership" but she said there were several of them. If they don't need bodies then why do any of this stuff to begin with? Some were implanted in babies but the ones that don't have bodies will never have bodies if they kill everyone. I was just confused by it all. I didn't like the book or the ending at all. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, I was kinda confused by the end of the third book too. What I really want to know is why did the 5 waves really happen? What's their real motive?
