Christine | 798 comments I just finished A Fatal Grace (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #2) by Louise Penny It counts as a Louise Penny novel. It was ok. I loved the first in the series. I was a little disappointed in this one.

Josh Barnett (joshyboy98311) | 366 comments Just finished Star Wars, Vol. 1 Skywalker Strikes by Jason Aaron It counts towards Twins cause Luke and Leia are twins.

I am reading more Star Wars comics. If any of them count towards anything, I'll update here. I did also finish Star Wars Darth Vader, Vol. 1 Vader by Kieron Gillen it also has a pair of twins in it...that wasn't Luke and Leia... and what is cool about these two comics, they are set during the same time, so You get a view from the Rebels and also Vader.

Have you read all of the series? I have only read the first book.

I will finish The Magicians tomorrow.

Danell (danellbookworm) | 685 comments Listened to We Are Water by Wally Lamb which works for #3. Not sure if I would have enjoyed this book if I was reading it. The book had actors reading each character which made this a great book. If one person was reading it probably would have stopped listening altogether, especially because the audio version was 19 discs long!!

I've been wanting to try a Wally Lamb book for a while but his books are so long that I keep putting it off. Glad you enjoyed it.

I just finished Tithe by Holly Black. I am using this one for task #5 (view spoiler)
I didn't really enjoy the book that much. I think there are better books on faerie.
Tithe (Modern Faerie Tales, #1) by Holly Black

I also just started re-reading The Magician King, Book Two in The Magicians Series. This works for task #2, containing the letters N-I-C-E in the title :-)

Christine | 798 comments I just finished Water for Elephants I really liked it and that is weird because I don't like circuses. I just loved the older gentleman who tells his story of how his life in the circus began. He made me laugh out loud.

I also finally finished The Magicians Wow! It wasn't an easy read, a bit tedious at times, but that happens when you are world building. I will keep reading the series. I love angsty Quentin.

I love The Magicians :-) Thanks for reading it. I still plan to read the third book in the series but I won't get to it until September.

I enjoyed Water For Elephants (the movie). I worked in the movie theater when it came out. I haven't read the book.

Jenn (darkstarcassidy) | 257 comments To all my friends on here, I haven't been on here lately. My 16 year old Mittens passed away today, I called off work can't sleep but know she is with Boots who passed in February. I'm glad she didn't suffer and that I didn't have to traumatize her by going to the vet. I'm glad I can chat with you's.

How long did you have Mittens with you?

My magical hedgehog died one month ago and it was a rather traumatic experience, so I can understand to some degree but I only had my hedgehog for 3 years - she was over 4 years old. I still have my telepathic cat. I don't want to get any new pet anytime soon - I can't handle the emotional connection & commitment.

Loving Thoughts With You Kid.

I am so sorry to hear about Mittens. Our furry family members leave their paw prints on our hearts. There's no denying the loss we feel when they go away. If you can find the Rainbow Bridge poem online, it is comforting. Hugs to you, Jenn.

message 187: by Danell (new)

Danell (danellbookworm) | 685 comments I purchased "The Road" awhile ago at a used book sale, have yet to read it. Think it is due to it being a bleak, dark book. Not sure when I will feel the urge to open it.

message 188: by Danell (new)

Danell (danellbookworm) | 685 comments I didn't get to finish "The Magicians". The library doesn't have it in audio and there is a possibility that I won't be listening to audio books for a few weeks. My truck met an unfortunate fate today. Fork lift put a hole in the floor. The other truck I drive has a cassette deck or radio. Might be warming up the vocal cords.

I think it is but I know some people who thought it was the most boring book on the planet. I thought there was beauty in the writing even though the book was very grim.

Christine | 798 comments I just finished Swan Song Reading two apocalyptic books at the same time is not a good idea. I feel like I need to stock up on canned foods and water, maybe build a bomb shelter under my basement, lol. I definitely need some lighter reading.
