ABANDONED. Book about a girl looking for excitement who finds it in an older, edgy guy

I can't remember the names of the characters or even the author but I know some details about the plot. There was a girl, probably a teenager, who is looking for excitement. I know she was on a plane ride and there she meets a slightly older guy (maybe in his 20s) who seems really exciting and edgy, which is just what's she's looking for. They become involved but at the end of the novel she realizes that he is not as exciting and cool as he seemed. I also want to say that another love interest is in the story who is the opposite of this guy but I'm not certain.
(Another random detail from the story that I remember is that on the plane ride the guy offered to share his earphones with her which had earwax on them and she decided to use them anyway, which is something she normally didn't do ). I'm pretty sure this is a young adult romance novel (paperback) that I had to have read sometime between 2010 and 2013.
