I don't remember much about this book but I really, really want to find it. I read it in 2000/2001 but I don't think it was new, it came with a bundle of romance/light reading type novels which dated from 1980s and earlier. All I really remember is that it was about a lady who was in limbo/purgatory and watching over everyone. I'm sorry I don't have much to go on. The frustrating thing is I found it online by googling a few years ago and thought 'great, I know what it's called now, so when I'm ready to buy it I will'! but now I can't find it. I THOUGHT it was called The Wish, or Wishes but when I've gone to look for it today nothing is coming up. I've searched and searched....you never know someone here might know what I'm talking about!

Do you know I think I might have found it after all! Wishes by Jude Deveraux. I am going to skim it on the kindle tonight and if I'm right I will move this to solved!
I'm having a conversation with myself here, but it was definitely that Wishes. The Amazon description threw me. The lady in question was in a purgatory called 'The Kitchen' in case this helps any future searchers.
