K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) | 1702 comments Thanks, James.

Please continue your other discussions in a new thread. It's getting a bit clunky. We need folks to be able to find their review links in this thread. Thanks!

Hi mod K.A.

Advice please. One of the authors I'm reading to review has sent me a newer, amended version of his book. I'm reluctant to start all over again, as I'm nearly half way through. Could you give me some guidance as to what I'm supposed to do here?

message 103: by K.A. (new)

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) | 1702 comments You're under no obligation to re-review. The book he/she sent you should have been 'ready for prime time', as we are a group that reviews published, finished works, not a beta-reading group. I would finish the copy you got, review it as is, but perhaps put a disclaimer in the review, stating something like "I understand this book has been revised since I read and reviewed it."

The other thing you could do is try to pick up the new version approximately where you left off the older version. That way at least you'd get to see the kinds of revisions that have been made and judge whether or not it will make any difference to your review.

Thanks!

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Thanks for the terrific review, Chrys, but since the book is part mystery, can you remove names and say something like, "the suspect" or "the stalker" and also reword it so that we still don't know why the precious gem was stolen, although the mention of the theft itself is fine. Thanks! I want future readers to enjoy guessing throughout the book! The "spoilers" option on Goodreads is not good enough on Amazon, since Amazon doesn't have that option.

Thanks!

Hi Scott, I have amended as asked--I can understand your desire to avoid spoilers.

message 110: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Perfect! Thanks! It actually sounds better to a neutral reader, anyway! It adds mystery.

Diana Heath | 2 comments Hi, I'd like to join this group and start reviewing some books. AZ-Revenge of an Archangel looks intriguing. I have set up an author profile and my book, Tales for the Sisterhood, is available on Amazon.
Cheers, Diana.

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) | 1702 comments Diana, you need to join a group that is currently forming. This one has been going on for a month or so. Please take a look at the FAQ and How Does It Work? topics and then join a group with 'currently forming' in the title. Thanks.

Thanks, Dan!

Frank Palumbo | 24 comments Hi, Please forgive the question, but I am somewhat new to Goodreads. I have a newly released novel, July 15, 2016, and am interested in getting it reviewed. I have PDF copies to hand out. the book Sullen Falls is available on Amazon. It is a dark fantasy/horror if that is acceptable.

Here is the back cover blurb
Deep below Sullen Falls
stirs an ancient evil.
Seth left Sullen Falls monastery five years ago in search of answers to his life. With the unexpected appearance of a comet, he is lured back to the town he once called home. There he discovers that an evil warps those he cared about and threatens the woman he loved–Sophia.

The Coughlins thought that vacationing in the scenic campgrounds of Sullen Falls would provide the respite from the crazy world and build a closer bond between parents and teen children. Drawn into town by what appears to be a festival, the family of four is plummeted into a nightmare none can awake.

The secret to defeat the evil lies in an ancient book, guarded by the last of an order thought to be extinct. To save Sullen Falls, the Coughlins and Sophia, Seth must find the tome and accept his destiny, even if it would cost him everything that is dear to him.

Thank you for your time and help, Frank
