Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments The great dragon flew in through the portal, wings beating against the humid air. "Call for your families," she advised.

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
The hatchlings nodded before sounded out a long ranged chain of cries and barks to signal their location. Hoping against hope that their families were in earshot.

((Ilsa would you mind playing some of the adult Eos they encouter, just so we can have some interaction between them?))

message 4: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments It didn't seem to work at first, but as she flew, soon hoots and shrieks and parents of all sorts leapt forward. They desperately cawed up at the sky, so Zerai lowered to the ground, protectively between the two for the moment. "These children were stolen and hurt in ways you can't hope to understand. They were also given the power to change their shape to that of a humanoid. If you do not wish for their return or would otherwise harm them, leave now and I will find them appropriate substitute parents." She met their eyes steely.

A few backed off, but none necessarily left. She lifted her wings, reuniting the children with the parents tentatively.

Once released the hatchlings ran into the massive gathering of Eos, crying out for their kin, and while not all of them were accepted by their packmates if they found them at all. In the end they all found a place in one tribe or another and those who were found and accept were done with cries of joy as they were bombarded by happy tribemates. From amongst the chaos, a proud gold scaled cheif emerged with his sharpshifters daughter in two. "I am Mufasa, high cheif of the tribe of the sunseekers and on the behalf of my tribe and the rest of my people. I thank you for returning our lost children to us," he proclaimed in gratitude.

message 6: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments ((Mufasa? Real creative. XD))

Zerai shifted into a human, smiling at Mufasa. "It was mostly an accident... but I'm happy that these children are welcome in your society. Thank you, sir, for proving me wrong about my fears for these children."

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
((Hey at least I didn't give him a son named simba! XD. By the way one of Kiba's former packmates is going to make an appearance and cause some contention. Do you want to play them or shall I?))

"Your welcome, however I can't say your fears were unfounded as while the majority of the tribes accept these young hatchlings with open arms. There are some who are vocally opposed to their presence. As such, I would ask that you and your son come with me so that we can discuss the implications of this with the rest of the cheifs," Mufasa continued while Kiba just rolled his eyes at the whole affair. Like his former tribe would ever be silenced by the simple threats of rival cheifs. No they would hunt down and kill the abominations faster than he could say "I told you so,". Bring the Eos people into a state of civil war. He wanted to remind the old gold scale about this, but knowing that his words would fall to deaf ears, he kept silent.

message 8: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments ((You should because you know what you want?))

Zerai blushed. "He's not my son," she said quickly, "He's an Eos, like you." She followed him all the same. "Can you say these children will be safe here?" she asked, keeping pace. All the same, she kept Kiba close. She did have a certain fondness for the kid.

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
((Okay, I just wanted to ask just in case you wanted to add some grayness to the character.))

"They'll be as safe as any Eos child could ever hope to be. Love and cherished by their tribe. And wo be the one tries to harm a child from a loving family," he tried assure her while Kiba tired of having all this sugar-coated began to tug on her paint leg and indicate to a patch of forest where they could talk in private.

message 10: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments Zerai inclined her head. "Excuse me for a moment, would you?" she said, walking alongside the raptor-child to the small copse of trees. "Yes, Kiba?" she asked. She, too, got the feeling that it was a bit sugarcoated, after the abuses described by the boy.

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"This whole mission was a bad idea," he said once they were out of earshot. "We may have found them good homes, but now the more violent tribes such as my former one know about us and no doubt will stop at nothing to kill what they consider abominations along with the anyone who gets in their way. Unless they're put in their place by means of tooth and claw."

message 12: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "You want me to sit on them?" she asked, a little sarcastically. But still. In a dragon form, she could quell most of that sort of nonsense fairly quickly.

message 13: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"Depends on what part of your body your crushing them with as they wouldn't be above making a low blow if you know what I mean," Kiba smirked, "but seriously even if you were to go all dragon on them. It would only be a temporary fix and will probably make few marytrs for their cause. So if we're going to beat them it will have to be using the law of the pack, the one law that binds even them."

message 14: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "You know how uneducated I am regarding Eos and their society. What law would you suggest using to our advantage? Do you know much of what must be done to ensure the safety of these kids?" She put her hands on her hips, smiling grimly.

message 15: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"Simple as the meeting goes on, our foes are no doubt going to be very vocal and no doubt challage our side to a dual demanding that one of the sharpshifters be put in the ring to prove their worth. This can play to our advantage as if we win, they won't be able to challage our claim under penalty of death. It's not much but it's the best that I can think of and out of all the kids only I will be put at risk as I'm the only one old enough to be legally challaged," he explained knowing full well that what he was suggesting could lead to his death, but in all honesty not knowing any other way out of this.

message 16: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "Nope. As your guardian, no chance of a snowflake in Hell. I won't let you risk death. They'll challenge a shapeshifter, yeah? Well, I'm one. I'll be the champion," she insisted, wrinkling her nose. He was a kid and she refused!

message 17: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"You could do that, however not only are you an outsider, but they would smell the dragon on you and run off to start the war we're trying to prevent. Mufasa would be a decent champion considering that he's powerful warrior and his daughter is one of the sharpshifters. However his victory wouldn't stick with our enemy as much as mine would, as he's an experienced warior and not a shapeshifter himself," Kiba continued as he pulled the out his dual swords from behind his back. "Zerai, you may be my guardain, but I don't need to be protected from this sort of thing. I'm perfectly..." He was about to say more when he was interrupted by the sounds of screams back where they'd left Mufasa and his daughter.

message 18: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments Zerai grabbed Kiba and pulled him onto her back, racing there with the speed of a leopard. Trees rushed past in a hazy blur, leaves spinning and twirling about them. She halted a the scene which would be in front of them, as described by Stephen. "What's going on here?!"

message 19: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
No one responded to the dragon's cry. However the answer imeaditatly became apparent as the gold scaled cheif could be seen defending his daughter against a blood scaled foe. Roaring like the lion he was named after while the red attacker looked the chief over for weak points. Meanwhile another foe hide in the unddrgrowth, waiting for the right moment to take out little shapeshifter will her father was distracted. Except Kiba had caught wind of this unseen foe and rushed into the unddrgrowth and took on the stalker in a battle that could be heard, but not seen through the folage.

message 20: by Ilsa (last edited Aug 22, 2016 09:02AM) (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments Kiba was followed directly by Zerai, who was not going to let Kiba go off and get tragically wounded in his desire to prove he had no ounce of childishness in him. She lunged at the foe and Kiba, ramming her knee up into the jaw of the would-be murderer. She glanced back at the leader to check how he was faring. "Kiba, get the girl out of the line of fire. Gather as many of the kids as you can to me. I'll shift and protect them if it becomes necessary."

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
Kiba growled, ticked at his guardian's insistence of treating like a helpless chick, but seeing as this wasn't the time or place to argue this point. He nodded before running off and leaving Zerai with the unconscious attacker. While he lead the younger shapeshifter up into the safety of a nearby tree. Where he proceeded to call out for all other shapeshifters to heather. However when he cries fell to deaf ears, so figuring that the girl was safe. He climbed back down and proceeded to leap onto the blood scale's back. In the hopes that he could distract him long enough for ether Mufasa or Zerai to come in and take him out as even he knew that he was no match for this larger more experienced opponent.

message 22: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments Zerai saw Kiba fighting. It took a few moments, but she was there to defend him in a flash. She had wanted him to fetch the kids. Why did he keep on attacking head on? It was dangerous! She sighed, swinging her fists and legs about, trying to avoid the dangerously toothed end of the Eos attackers.

message 23: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"Call out to the others, didn't get a reply so I think they're safe for now," Kiba reported quickly before using Zerai's distraction to bite into his foes arm until he heard the snap of it breaking and the older Eos roaring in pain before on of Commander's kicks knock him out. And seeing that the battle was won. Kiba looked up feeling quite pleased with himself that he'd manged to hold out so well, and hoped it showed that he could hold his own in a fight despite his age.

message 24: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "Kiba!" she admonished, face full of worry. "I told you to get the children to safety, not endanger your own neck," she insisted, more upset than angry. She just didn't want him hurt, but he was intent on getting himself hurt...

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
((Sorry Ilsa didn't see your post until just now.))

"My neck is amour plated in case you haven't notice. And even if I had run away with the others like a cowardly turn scale. That would've made so that they knew what they're planing and would've made it so that we all in one place easier to herd and kill all at once, like wolves hunting sheep. Now we can send a message to each family and they can leave separately with each of their kids. Making it so that our toes would literally have to cross the cosmos to get to all. Can't you see that bring them all to together in one mad dash would've been sucide, or am I just some dumb weak runt who has to be sent away from a fight because I'm so darn helpless. I HELPED YOU BREAK OUT OF HELL!! I can't think of any other way I can prove to you that I'm more than capable of fighting beside you, but your blind to anything but my size just like my old pack," he bursted out in rage filled tears before running over to a nearby tree and climbing up far beyond any adult reach to cry alone in peace.

message 26: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments Maybe she really did suck at all things kids. "If we could get them in one place, we could get their attackers in one place. As a dragon, I could easily end these troubles. You see, now some children may die and others may live with that sort of thinking. My goal was to save everyone." She wasn't dumb. She was thousands of years old. "The best way to prove yourself is to do as I say. I always have a plan. In the heat of the moment like that, doing something else, you focused on one attacker, but not all. Surely, as these children come from many places, they must also have enemies from many places." She was now sort of talking up a tree, trying to talk reason to him. Yes, he was just a kid. He might as well accept that. And if he wanted them working as a team so much, why did he fight solo?

message 27: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"He's not going to listen to you while he's like this and trying to reason with him is just going add fuel to his fire. So just let him work out his anger while we call the other tribes with shapeshifter children to us so that we talk about an evacuation plan," Mufasa suggested.

message 28: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments She hesitated, then shook her head. "Do what you must. I will wait for Kiba." In a way, this tested his dedication. He was keeping her back. He was her first priority and she would not let him feel abandoned.

Mufasa nodded before proceeding to call out to the other tribe. While Kiba had stopped screaming like a banshee and as he tried to regain control himself, but every time he got close. The word, "weakling," poped up in his head bring him back to step one. Leaving the child in an seemly endless cycle of distraught.

message 30: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments Zerai had practically endless patience. She stood, feet shoulder-width apart, arms crossed. She knew he'd tire himself out eventually. She could wait.

"The child has a strong bite, for his age don't you think," Mufasa said indicating to the red scales broken arm.

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments She nodded quietly. "Yes." Still, she waited.

message 33: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"You know he's probably not going to come down if you stand right under him with your arms crossed. As it probably looks like your about to punish him as soon as he gets down," Mufasa suggested before laughing despite himself at the scene before him. Here was a dragon, older than all the living memory of his people, and she was struggling to deal with an eight year old's emotional breakdown. Something that he dealt with on a daily bases while the immortal being seemed to be suffering from obvious inexperence. There was certain sort of irony to this scene that despite his age and position, he just couldn't help but see as amusing.

message 34: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments It was amusing. She unfolded her arms. "I'm not angry. I'm just waiting..." She really had no clue whatsoever.

"You may know that and I may know that, but I doubt he knows it," he said as he finally got control of himself. "So what happened," he asked.

message 36: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "He disobeyed my orders because he doubted my ability to form a plan. He constantly sees himself as mature despite the fact that his brain couldn't possibly have advanced to that capacity of development at his current physical age. He feels the need to deny that he is a child and feels that he must prove he is not. That wouldn't be so bad, but he's reckless."

message 37: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
Mufasa laughed at this despite of himself. "My friend, you basically just described every Eos adolescent from around eight to sixteen summers old. I've lost count on how many times a hunt went downhill because the youngsters decided that they could take on a full grown buck on their own," he said before returning to a more serious tone. "However, while I didn't hear your full conversation with him. I'm pretty sure his final outburst could be heard all the way in Finalis, and given some of his self demeaning things he said back there. I highly doubt that this resulted solely from being a reckless youth though that may have been the catatlyst."

message 38: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "He has his own unique set of scars," she said simply. "I'll just wait. I know that I didn't just describe Eos adolescents, but also probably most adolescents." She shook her head. "You should probably see to your daughter and the others. You fought well."

message 39: by Eoraptor (new)

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"You may be right, but not all adolescents have sharp teeth, large claws, or a tail full of posionous spikes," He laughed again. "And yes, I go attend to those things right now, but let me give you one peace of advise before I go. When he comes down and talks to you. Search for the true demon that is haunting him and bring it to the surface so that you two can kill it. Only then will both of you be able to move on," he suggested before heading off to attend to his daughter.

message 40: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments Zerai sighed. "Most Dragon adolescents have that sort of thing going on," she pointed out. "I don't know that it's a problem that should be torn free, either... perhaps it would do less damage to ease it out of him."

Eoraptor (Mortus) | 2898 comments Mod
"Well it seem that both our races have adolescents with a bite behind their bits," Mufasa replied as he tended to his daughter. Careful not to harm her with his claws. "but all joking aside. Weather you chose to ease it out of him or to attack it all at once. The end needs to be the same, or he'll never be able to move on into his new life."

message 42: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "Indeed," she agreed. "But one usually does not amputate to remove a splinter. I'll do what I can. Thank you, Mufasa." Zerai bowed her head respectfully. She brushed her hair away from whee it swung, tickling her neck, and wiped sweat from her brow. The dragon child was tired.

message 44: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "Kiba," Zerai said softly. "I don't think of you as worthless. You are a child, but that does not make you worthless. You did break us out of Hell. You did save that girl. You took on one of the attackers and came out victorious. So. Tell me what is truly wrong."

"My former pack," Kiba answered averting his gaze to hide the tears. "They haunt my dreams at night and plague my thoughts during the day. That's the real reason why I wanted to duel before all this happened, because I hoped that I would be able to challage one of them, and when I beat them. I would finally show them and give them a final reminder to myself that tbey were wrong about me. That I am worth something. However I guess I'm still young, but I don't know how else to face my past if it's not head on, and stars knows I just can't leave things be as I'll just be stuck in this mess for the rest of my life."

message 46: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 1288 comments "No one ever moved on, grew up, or got strong, by binding their ankles to the terrors of the past. You can face it. You can fight it. You can overcome it. But never let it own you, Kiba." She took his shoulder warmly. "You may have your chance before this is all up. But trust me, Kiba... I know what I'm doing, all right? I want you to live."
