Hi Everyone! I wasn't sure if this is the right place to put this. I am trying to get a pulse on how romance readers feel about a "choose your own adventure" style book? If you're unsure what I am referring to - they are the type of books where when the main character comes to a scenario where a decision needs to be made, YOU as the reader gets to pick between two (or several) different choices, and the story continues on from there, regardless of the decision you picked. Do what you do think? Yay or Nay to adult romance choose your own adventure? Thanks!
My first reaction was no, I might get amusement out of it existing, but I wouldn't be all that interested. Then I tried to think back to when I was a teenager (scary long ago now) and I think I would probably have been interested then. The choose your own fantasy adventure things were huge for teens then, and I remember wanting some desperately. By the early 20's I'd "aged out" of them, even with being slower than most of my peers to let go of "younger" things. Obviously there's some interest here, and there's probably some nostalgia market among adults my age for them, but I think you're looking at a very small market of people who will be crazy for them, and a whole lot of "meh" from the rest. However, I could be (and often am!) completely wrong about what would be a hit with other people. :)
Thanks!
