I thought it was entertaining but it never grabbed me the way his two other books had. It is well written and he sucks you right in.
Thanks. I'm going to read TBF and the other two. This is stupid to say, but the cover of The Reach didn't impress me much and I never bothered to read it. The Bloodstone cover is chilling, though.

With all the books I see in a day, I definitely have to judge by the cover. I would be taking home about 10x more than I already do!
Hi Tressa (and all)--interesting comments, Tressa! THE REACH was my favorite of all my covers, strangely enough. I like BONE FACTORY's cover, was lukewarm about BLOODSTONE...just goes to show you how little us writers know about this stuff. :)I hope BONE FACTORY grabs you by the throat--the last third of the novel is one hard and fast rush! Let me know how it goes.
All my best,
Nate
Nate, thanks for your comment. Maybe I would appreciate The Reach's cover if I read the book. I've heard lots of good things about it. That thing in the window of Bloodstone's cover is pretty unforgettable.
The Bone Factory already gave me a nightmare about my son going missing. Woke up at 1:09 in a panic. Thanks a lot!
Nate, didn't I read on another thread though that the girl on the cover of THE REACH looks like your daughter, or somebody close to you? Might that be a reason for your preference? :O)I'm very interested in reading this one. Might grab it today...but there are a few books ahead of it for the reading.
Tressa--ha, spawning nightmares, the ultimate compliment for a horror writer! :) THE REACH is the book I'm most proud of writing--I think it's the cleanest and tightest of my novels--so maybe that's another reason I liked the cover so much. And Carl, you're right, it does look a lot like my daughter--completely unintentional, but it's true! :)PRIME, my sci fi thriller, is another one I'm proudest of--I think that one is some of my best writing to date. Of course, SPARROW ROCK, the novel I've just finished that will be out next May, will blow them all away...I can't wait for people to read this one!

I'm currently reading Bloodstone and I have Bone Factory although it is taking me awhile to actually sit down and read it. School is monopolizing my time and doing a rough edit on my second novel before submitting it so I will eventually finish it lol. I have three weeks off between summer and fall classes so hopefully I will get time to read it. I haven't gotten The Reach, but I will once I get through the other two that I have.

I haven't read either Bloodstone or The Reach but I know he's got some fans here. I might start it this weekend.
