Charlotte Brothers (goodreadscomcharlottebrothers) | 13 comments "Love In the Afternoon" by Lisa Kleypas was inspired doubtlessly by Beatrix Potter. The heroine is named Beatrix and has a menagerie of misfit animals. This book has some sex in it (don't know if that's okay with you), but I'd say the hero is not the usual rake hero.

Charlotte Brothers (goodreadscomcharlottebrothers) | 13 comments Ok- I may have already wrote this to you, but big recommend is Jude Morgan's "A Little Folly." It's like a good Heyer or Austen. No rake or mistress wielding hero there.
