1: How did the Read-a-thon go for you? Did you meet any goals?
I sucked at the read-a-thon! Wobble kept me busy. I only met a Goal if you count that I read ONE letter from Wobble. So no, I don't count it as a win. :)
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
I read a total of 4 books, but only finished 1. One was a DNF @7%, One I only read 23% of and one was an audio I started before the RaT and I read about 65% of it (during the RaT). Not counting the DNF, I read around 600 pages.
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
I finished Written in Fire, the end of a great trilogy. I recommend it, but it must be read as the trilogy, it can not stand on its own.
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
Not for me, but I didn't do as much reading as I would like. Still, I had fun. I enjoyed reading everyone's answers and recommendations and hopefully everyone had a good time!
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
No questions from me (since I'm the one willing to answer them.) Just wanted to get a little more Wobble talk in. :D

1: How did the Read-a-thon go for you? Did you meet any goals?
I did great on Friday and Saturday, horrible on Sunday (literally didn't read at all--we're getting ready to go on vacation so I spent all day tweaking the itinerary), and did bad yesterday (only read for about an hour total...again, getting ready for vacation).
I did make one goal, which was to finish one of the books I was reading.
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
I finished I Want My Epidural Back: Adventures in Mediocre Parenting.
I got almost half-ways through Sweet Lamb of Heaven
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
I Want My Epidural Back: Adventures in Mediocre Parenting is hilarious.
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
It sure did:-). If I wasn't getting ready for vacation, I would have participated and read a lot more.
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
Wheel-a-thon is first, right?
Waiting for Wobble Wrap-up
1. How did the Read-a-thon go for you? Did you meet any goals?
I feel like I accomplished a lot during this Read-a-thon, I read 4 books, and started two more. I crossed a lot off my TBR list and that felt great and I added a whole bunch of new books thanks to the recommendations. My goal was to read 1 book a day and I met that.
2. How many books and/or pages did you complete?
I read a total of 6 books, 4 of which I completed. I read 1,373 pages.
3. What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
My favorite was Garden of Lies by Amanda Quick. She is one of my favorite authors, she writes Historical/Romance/Thrillers.
Did the Read-a-thon help pass the time before Wobble?
Yes! all the activties were great ad helped everyone get to know each other, makes for better competition.

Wheel-a-thon is first, right?"
Actually, no. It's a Wobbly Wobble, and Battleship is first. In the Wobbly Wobble, Battlehip and Wheel-a-thon are swapped, all the rest stay the same.
Battleship will start June 17th and last TWO weeks!

It went well! I finished one book and came very close to finishing my second. I actually finished my second book this morning.
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
I read two books, 802 pages.

3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
I'd recommend both! The Elephant Whisperer was a great nonfiction read. Also enjoyed The Fifth Assassin, but it's second in the Culper Ring series, so I recommend reading The Inner Circle first.
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
Yes! But it's still so far away! At least it's almost June...
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
I guess my question is more of a general challenge question than anything, and I'm not sure it will be applicable to Wobble. BUT...
If the publication year is needed to fulfill a challenge requirement, do people typically use the original publication year - the first one - or do people go more by the publication year of their specific edition? I keep being confronted by this with several challenges I'm doing.

1: How did the Read-a-thon go for you? Did you meet any goals?
I only finished one book & made it about 1/2 way through the other three, so I definitely did not meet my goals. I had a lot going on IRL though, so I'm ok with that.
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
*I finished Tell the Wolves I'm Home - 360 pages
*Read about 150 pages (+ or -) of Stars Above.
*I got through 4 hours of audio on Murder at the Vicarage about 1/2 way - so maybe the equivalent of 140 pages.
*Plus, some of The Art of Not Breathing - I have no idea how much of this one I read, but it was really slow-going and took up much more of my time than it should have. I'm struggling with feeling engaged with this one.
I would guess about 700 pages total.
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
I would have to say Tell the Wolves I'm Home, since it's the only one I finished and it was really good. I gave it 4 stars.
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
Hmmm...it certainly took some of my time. :) I had a lot going on IRL this past week, so I didn't read as much as I wanted to. I feel like the time passed quickly, but probably would have read-a-thon or not, due to general busy-ness. I did have fun with it though and it took my mind off other things, at times.
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
I have no questions, but would like to say thank you for putting this read-a-thon together. It was a lot of fun. :)

It varies unfortunately. I know when we had it for the Goals we did (Tower Teams / Gladiator) it was both. Most was edition being read but some were specifically Original publishing. It specifically said, if it were Original. If it didn't say, then it was book read.
While it doesn't come into play for any of the set challenges, there could be an instance where it could come up. I'll ask other mods to make sure they clarify which they want for it.

1: How did the Read-a-thon go for you? Did you meet any goals?
I read part or all of 5 books , 3 books met the goal for titles or authors beginning with WOBBLE letters, I think thats OK
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
total pages 1680 in 4 days i think thats ok too
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
The Song of Achilles
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
its still a long time to Weeble without wobbling
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)

2. I read 3 YA/older kids chapter books, and enjoyed them a lot.
3.Sort of, though due to my kids using up all of our internet I could only connect at the library and didn't spend as much time perusing people's the conversations as much as I want.
4. Not yet. It's my first team challenge and I'm pretty new to challenges in general, so I'm wondering if I just don't know enough to ask questions yet.

This Read-a-thon went horribly. I only ended up finishing 1 book.
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
I was reading from 4 different books, but only finished one. I ended up reading 532 pages, so that was really bad for me.
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
The book I finished was good. It was Legacy of the Clockwork Key definitely an interesting setting I think, and I gave it 4 stars.
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
A little bit, but I was busy with a lot of other things than reading though.
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
Not right now.

I didn't really have time to participate in the thread as much as I'd liked and I was coming off a very busy work schedule so I didn't want to push myself too hard in terms of goals. But I did make it a point to read and got through some pages, so I'm calling it a win!
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
I finished Birthmarked which I had been milking for about a month and followed it up Tortured, a ~30 page glimpse at the time between Books 1 and 2. Not sure I'll finish with the series though.
I read MOST of The Duchess War as well, finishing the last 20% this morning.
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
The Duchess War!! For anyone who likes historical romance, Courtney Milan is a must read. Not that I don't love a good stereotypical romance, but Milan writes intelligent romances that highlight societal issues.
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
I've been so busy lately, that time has been passing by quickly anyway! ;)
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
The only question I have is the one I know better than to ask! ;)
(view spoiler)

2: How many books and/or pages did you complete? I read 2 books and that would be about 736 pages.
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend? I would highly recommend Blood of the Earth by Faith Hunter

4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble? Yes, it did!
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :) When we are doing the wheel portion, none of the books we have read during battleship count towards that, correct? Thank you.

Correct!
Each event will only use the books read during that event! It's going to make it challenging, since you won't always know what's coming. But fun!

1: How did the Read-a-thon go for you? Did you meet any goals?
It went okay, and I met some goals, but I did not meet my main goal. I let too many distractions get in my way. :'(
(The goals I met were to read a Task book: Broken Soul -- for a B in W.O.B.B.L.E. -- was that book. And I did finish at least two of the three books I had hoped to read.)
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
I read 711 pages plus part of the first chapter (4%) in an audiobook. I completed two books and one short story. (I had hoped to complete three books, but instead I never even got to start the third one.)
I only read for about 25.5 hours. So just over six hours a day average. Not bad, but not as much as I'd hoped.
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
Broken Soul by Faith Hunter. It's number eight in the Jane Yellowrock series. If you started the series but gave up before this book, you should really read this one. It was the realization of my hopes and dreams for Jane. :-)
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
Yes, I just wish I'd been able to read more. Distractions are the bane of my existence.
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
I have a question about bonus points: Do ALL team members have to read a book for whatever the goal is to get them (like with Around the World)?

I have a question about bonus points: Do ALL team members have to read a book for whatever the goal is to get them (like with Around the World)?"
Not sure which bonus points you might be referring to, but one thing you can do is throw everything ATW does out the window. That's a very different animal and very specific to what is going on with it, and things will unlikely be the same as ATW in any event.
Back to the bonus points, so far there's just 2 chances mentioned in "All about Wobble". 1st is Wheel-a-thon. that's just for when the first word is complete. If you get a word and it's WOBBLE. When the word is finished there is bonus points for finishing the word. That's it.
The 2nd time it is mentioned is for Labors and won't be an all member thing.

1: How did the Read-a-thon go for you? Did you meet any goals?
The RaT went great. My goal was to finish three books. But, I read two books and 25% of the third one, which is not bad.
2: How many books and/or pages did you complete?
Books read: 2
Pages read: 682
3: What one book read during the RaT would you recommend?
Landline! The best thing about this book is its flawed characters. Of course, this book isn't perfect. (I gave it 4 stars, after all.) But, this book is actually perfectly imperfect! ;)
4: Did the Read-a-Thon help pass the time before Wobble?
Of course! Though I already have a lot going on these days..
5: Have ONE Wobble question? Go ahead and ask! :)
Not yet.

Thanks, Karsyn! Just knowing it will very different from ATW is enough for now. I'm sure we'll get more info on the various rules and requirements once the W.O.B.B.L.E. events start going, and as each begins. :-)

Being new to Wobble, what date in June does it start?"
June 17th. Finalizing start time now, so a countdown calendar will be up soon.

I enjoyed my read-a-thon, especially reading the questions/answers & recommendations... I just wish it were longer than 4 days. A week, maybe?? I managed to finish 2 books -- 1 of which I was working on since January!
How many books did you complete? I finished 2 and started 2 new ones. Poetic justice!
What one book read during the RaT would you recommend? The Mamo Murders because it's really a slice of vintage Hawaii life on a range circa 1950-something. The author did a good job portraying all the different ethnicities.
Did the RaT help pass the time before WOBBLE? It did, but it's still a long ways off! Hope there'll be lots more buzz leading up to the game...
No questions as of yet.... Just can't wait!!
