Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I've started two books Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder and Mistress of Rome (The Empress of Rome, #1) by Kate Quinn . One is a BR I've joined but Mistress of Rome is more interesting at the moment so I'll probably finish it first and then Poison Study.

Adriana | 3733 comments @Bookbuyer - I think I'm going to join in Poison Study too. I've read it before a couple of years back I believe. It's really good. I have no idea why I didn't finish the series. I understand though if you don't find it too intriguing at the start. I remember it being more of a slow paced book but with great writing.

It's a bit slow for me because I read it last year. But I just finished Night Study and it made me nostalgic for the series again. ^-^ I would be great if you joined in too. One person has already dropped it because it was DNF for her. :(

message 56: by Adriana (last edited Jun 02, 2016 07:50PM) (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Isn't there like a spin off of the series? I checked the poison study series and there was two different names in the series section if that made any sense...

I'd love to join as soon as it gets to my library. I'm going to the library tomorrow just because and I'll be lucky if it's waiting for me.

Finished Beastkeeper! I'm on to Princess Academy finally! I've been wanting to read it this whole year.

message 57: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments There is another continuing series in the 'study' series called 'soulfinders'. It's the same MCs but about 10 years later. Is that considered a spin off?

message 58: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I don't think it's consider a spin-off if it has the same main characters. I've never heard of something like that before. It's kind of a dream come true for a lot of beloved series.

message 59: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Exactly! I can't wait till the third book comes out!!! :D

message 60: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I'm about a 1/4 into Mistress of Rome. I might finish it tonight if I don't fall asleep. :D

message 61: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments My book is moving along quite nicely (50%). I think I might pick up the next book in the series after it. I've owned it for years and I don't think I've ever read it. O.o

I thought I was going to take a week to finish my books that first day since I wasn't reading fast but if you find the right book you can speed through it in a day or so. :)

message 64: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments True. I do that too sometimes. :)

Adriana | 3733 comments Oh I'm glad you are enjoying your book so much Bookbuyer ^__^

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

I am currently reading Harry Potter 2. I'm liking it enough so far. I finished my last weekday brides book yesterday :( I'm sad they're over. I shall post my review tonight before work. I'm off tomorrow so I'll have my other 2 BRs done then.

message 68: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Is this your first time reading the harry potter series?

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes. I read the first one last month towards the end of the month and really enjoyed it but this second one is not as exciting. Don't get me wrong. It's still good but not as..

message 70: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I can understand that. I didn't like the sixth book that much as the others but that's probably because the story was introducing the conclusion of the series.

message 71: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I finished my book as well, will add review during the weekend :)

message 72: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Posted my first review!

We are doing really well girls! :D

message 73: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I saw Bookbuyer, that book was pretty huge. Did you end up liking how it ended?

@Irene - Awesome! What book did you end up reading?

I read a short book. I'm going to try to find some more short books to read so I can read more while I listen to The Princess Academy (:

Yeah, it was pretty awesome! I'm thinking I'm going to read the next book as well. :)

I'm going to be doing the same. I have some large books planned this month so I found a bunch of 100 pages novellas that I can read at the same time. :)

message 76: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments We have the same plan. I have a couple of larger reads and some classics I want to read as well as some kids reads.

message 77: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I read Forget You by Jennifer Echols, I didn't like it. I think I have outgrown ya contemporary... I'm reading Unrivaled by Alyson Noel now and it seems good so far

message 78: by Adriana (last edited Jun 04, 2016 12:12AM) (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Some YA contemporary books I can't get into either but there are a good many out there that are good. Good luck with the next book (:

message 79: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments That's true. I just don't feel like they appeal to me all that much anymore. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with liking the genre at all, it's just me getting too old lol :D

message 80: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments @ Irene - I get it. I've felt that way with some YA books where the main character acts a little too childish for me to like (:

I didn't realize how any points you got if you have a book over 450 pages and it is a buddy read. It's 4 points right there. That's how Elephant is crushing everyone else at 26 points! And they are reading an awful lot. I might end up reading some buddy reads early like I already planned.

message 81: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I'm trying to get buddies for my books :))

message 82: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I just got a haul of books from the library! I'm very tempted to read Anne of Green Gables early even though I'm supposed to read it later on.

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

Goals for today: finish Chamber of secrets a BR 450+ pages.. And finish 50 shades darker a BR 450+ pages.

message 84: by Adriana (last edited Jun 04, 2016 11:00AM) (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Wow! That's a lot to read Cinthia. Have fun (:

Are you liking Chamber of Secrets any better?

My goals: Finish BR for Princess Academy (done), BR for Anne of Greene Gables (currently reading), and start Has Anyone Seen Jessica Jenkins. I'm going to steal your goals list. I love making lists (:

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

I think they keep you on track. Lol. I am enjoying it better. I'm actually almost done with it.

message 86: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Oh good! Are you planning on reading the third book or waiting a while until you get to it?

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Yea. It's a series BR so we move on. I'm a day behind as a matter of fact, the girl in reading the series with is a day ahead of me. I'll catch up though if they continue to be this good.

message 88: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Oh cool, it was a great feat for me to complete all of them. I read the in a little over a week the first time during Summer. I did nothing but read. So if you are on a sort of schedule then when are you supposed to finish the last book?

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

Umm. I don't think I've thought that far. There are like 8 books right? I have a couple other series I want to finish. I'm on vampire academy 5 which I can't wait to start cracking. And I want to also finish the 50 shades of grey one, we are on book 2 now.

message 90: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments @Cinthia - Oh, I guess then you are just reading it together and moving on when you are all done. There are seven books actually. You seem to be good at reading series. I've read a fair share amount but It's always hard for me to finish them for some reason.

@Amy - What are you reading Amy?

message 91: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I've seen that book around a lot. Is Origin any good so far?

message 92: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I'm currently reading three books. I'm still hoping to read Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder but it's not really working for me right now so I might put it down and work on some other reads for now.

Currently reading: Wildest Dreams (Fantasyland, #1) by Kristen Ashley Daughters of Rome (The Empress of Rome, #2) by Kate Quinn

message 93: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Amy wrote: "Yeah. I really like it. It's one of those books that leaves you wondering how things could be different if one little thing happened differently."

Interesting. I didn't think it would have a deep meaning like that.

message 94: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I finished my br read of Anne of Green Gables today.

I'll be reading Has Anyone Seen Jessica Jenkins? by Liz Kessler and possibly A Study in Charlotte (Charlotte Holmes, #1) by Brittany Cavallaro after that.

message 95: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I'm thinking I might get to either 1/3 or 1/2 done Wildest Dreams (Fantasyland, #1) by Kristen Ashley tonight. It's quite long though so it could take me a while. :)

message 96: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I'm gonna be reading The Hunger Games today, as a BR. Pretty sure there's an edition with more than 450 pages. :) And it's a reread so it won't take me long. :)

There is an edition in Korean that's over 800 pages! :)

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

We can use any edition?

message 99: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Cinthia wrote: "We can use any edition?"

That's been my understanding so far. I think that's the rule for pretty much every challenge now. :/
