SOLVED. Urban Fantasy, the return of the old gods and vomiting [s]

I remember quite a bit about this story. Adult Urban Fantasy, at least 10 years old.

Something happens that causes the old gods and the tuatha dae dennan (fae) to return to the modern world. They cause a lot of havoc, including destroying several cities, stopping electricity from working, releasing a dragon to terrorize the highway.

Its about a small group of people, who are trying to help get rid of all the bad peeps.

When they see the bad guys, their brains are unable to process what they are seeing and they get dizzy, feel nauseous and pass out. They are kind of humanoid but also bug like, with a chitinous armour.

The group are trying to get from one side of the country (U.S) to another, but have to abandon their car as it stops working.

The cover was of green leaves forming the pattern of a face.
