It looks like the sewing quilting book is going to be my tough one this month. Too bad I read all of the Quilting Mysteries that are part of the Danger Cove series, at least until Gin Jones and Gemma Halliday her publisher release the next one later this year.

Make sure you check out the "quilting/sewing" category on our group bookshelf. '-)

And Gary, some of the books by the author of the month are quite right for this theme (I like Polyester a lot, Poly for you :-) )
So far this month I've read:2. Read a book in which someone is poisoned:
by Karen Anne Golden, which I only gave 1 star.5. Read a book in which someone goes fishing or that has fish/seafood on the cover:
by Barbara Ross, which I only gave 1 star as well. This month has been hard for me. I've managed to finish two books for the challenge so far but didn't like either one. I'm going to start
by Kathi Daley for the first category in this challenge and I'm hoping I enjoy it.

Darn I just double checked the second Helen Binney mystery by Gin Jones, Helen is involved in a charitable knitting group...no sewing or quilting there.
Done. Had to go out of my TBR pile for this month...and, like last year, the fishing category was hard for me . Got an idea from someone else's read...and, really enjoyed it. Might even invest in purchasing it for me classroom!
Ready for July!

Good job, Carla!
Hoping Planning to start my last challenge book on Tuesday, just as soon as I finish O Pioneers!.
Way to go Brenda! :) Way to go Linda! :) Way to go Carla! :)I'm in the middle of the last two books, so I should have them done by Thursday. :)
Nearly done with my final book this month. 80% on page 214 of 266. The I can settle back and finish
before starting the July mini challenge. I still haven't worked out my books for that yet.
Congrats, Gary! You're almost there. And I think for July I'm going to read the last one by Janel Gradowsky.
I have only read the first 2 of that series so I have the next 3 novels plus the two short stories that take place between books 3 and 4.
well, i tried for three but will wind up with one. Turns out it took me longer to finish the others I was already in the middle of than I thought it would!
Ack! Last day of the challenge, and looks like I won't finish it. I had a poison book lined up (was actually waffling between two), but as my last book took longer to finish than it should have (life kept getting in the way), I wasn't able to start a poison book until last night, and was too tired to really get into it. Needless to say, it won't be finished in a day. :-(
Here is what I did finish:
1. Read a book with cats.
The Cat, the Sneak and the Secret by Leann Sweeney
2. Read a book in which someone is poisoned.
Death Is Like a Box of Chocolates by Kathy Aarons
3. Read your veggies! Find a book with vegetable on the cover, or set at a farm/farmers' market.
A Killer Maize by Paige Shelton
4. Read a book about sewing or quilting.
Irish Chain by Earlene Fowler
5. Read a book in which someone goes fishing, or that has fish or seafood on the cover.
Boiled Over by Barbara Ross
ETA: "Poison" book, started in June and finished in July.

The short stories are
Christmas Canapés & Sabotage which was originally in
Cozy Christmas Capers and Barbecue & Bad Juju which is part of
Killer Beach Reads. The earlier story is available separately as an Ebook. I have both anthologies as they contain stories from many of the Gemma Halliday Publishing series.
Way to go Heather! :) IMO, you finished the challenge. You have started that last book in the month of June. :) Even if it takes a day or two to finish it. :)Congrats Gary! :)
Good job, folks. And, those who did not finish. Well, not a big deal. You gave it a shot, and hopefully enjoyed what you did. Onward to July...and, may you have a wonderful read!
Congratulations to everyone who's finished. For those of you who didn't get to complete all the books, good effort. I didn't finish either. I am still on my last book, which I won't finish by the end of today. But I still enjoyed the mini challenge this month.
