When You're Not Reading a Cozy . . .
Doing a little sci-fi. I've been listening to
Calculating God and reading
A Thousand Words for Stranger
Currently reading
Memoir of Col. Benjamin Tallmadge by Benjamin TallmadgeThe author of this Memoir was Wasington's spymaster in the New York area during the Revolutionary War. One of his classmates was a fellow by the name of Nathan Hale.
Finished The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America which earned an easy 5 stars from me. I read for it my ftf book club and I really enjoyed the discussion. Now I'm reading Time and Regret, a WWI story. This is another good one.

Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania. He has a knack for bringing history to life and making it read like a novel.

I had read In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin and my reaction was 'WOW!" so I knew I would enjoy Devil. Now I'm adding Dead Wake to my wish list!
Finished Time and Regret today. I'll be reading Hosanna next.

I am so far behind on her books. You are right, she has so many, yet she still writes her own, not like some other authors out there who have writing partners.

Just starting Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
. I have been wanting to read this for a while now, and when I saw it in my library's banned book display, I thought what better time to read it!

I just finished
and I very much enjoyed it. Because I am late to the party, I can start the next one right away.
Just finished an excellent non-fiction book. "Maria's Journey" by Ramon and Trisha Arredondo. It's a true and moving and sometimes funny story of one woman's journey to becoming an American, raising children, learning so much along the way. Maria was Ray Arredondo's mother, and Ray and his wife researched, interviewed and put together this well written and touching biography. Highly recommended!
Finished
Memoir of Col. Benjamin Tallmadge by Benjamin TallmadgeAlso recently started
Stand by Your Hitman by Leslie LangtryAlso back working on finishing
The Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan
I just finished a historical romance called A Raven's Heart by K. C. Bateman. It was very good. I would recommend it!

I read it on my own while in college and actually liked it.

It was on my list of classics to read but also it is relatively short and people told me that another book I liked a lot was based on this one. I finally had to read a summary of the book bc I am 40% in and wasn't seeing much resemblance.
I'm reading
by Nichole Christoff, which is a thriller/mystery and is so far very good. I also just started reading
and it's already become hard to put down. So I've got two right now that are winners... :)
I just finished reading A Hidden Fire. It's a paranormal romance/suspense. Wonderful book! I loved it. The characters are so believable - even the vampires.
I just got in The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks & Win Your Inner Creative Battles and will be starting that soon!
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare gradually working my way through the series..trying to get to The Infernal Devices...hoping I like them. I better because I have all 3 books..which I try not to do usually because sometimes I tend to not always like the books after book 1...if i like book 1 at all. But I haven't even read book 1 because I haven't finished the Mortal Instruments (evidently)
I read the Odd Thomas prequel/short story
Odd Thomas: You Are Destined To Be Together Forever and started the romantic suspense
Close Your Eyes yesterday.
I just finished reading
by Nalini Singh which I enjoyed quite a bit. The alpha male romantic interest was a little A-typical but the writing was incredible.

Yes, she's able to make me like vamp stories, something I was bored a long time ago.

I just finished
. It was a definite 5+ stars, but is as non-cozy as you can get.I am starting
this morning.
Just started reading
, which I'm enjoying so far. I find Ms. Harris' descriptions of the town and her chocolate confections to be incredible. The only thing I find a little off putting is the random jumps in the story line. But otherwise it's a very entertaining read.

The last book in this series Honor Bound
by B.J. Daniels ties it all up with a few twists and turns. My Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished reading
Bloody Mary, the second book in the Jack Daniels series. Definitely not a cozy, but a fun book with a strong female character.

Is this the last one?"
Yes, this is the last book in the trilogy. Now I just need to catch up on one of her more recent series. She's too darn prolific! :-\
