Romance for me, too - reading An Affair with a Notorious Heiress - it took me a while to get into it, which is unusual for me with a Lorraine Heath book.

I did like it also!

YUP! Which is why I'm now reading an historical romance by Sarah MacLean, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake. "
I ended up reading until 2:30 AM Saturday to finish this one. Loved it! Would definitely like to read the next two books in the series.

Cat Tales: True Stories of Kindness and Companionship with Kitties by Aline Alexander Newman. Lots and lots of really cute kitties!
Reading Divergent. I really enjoy tbe whole distopian/post-apocalyptic genre. Actually was going to watch the movie for the second time when I decided to download the book from the library and read it instead.
Currently reading a paranormal - Power Game by Christine Feehan. Next I think I'll relax with a Georgette Heyer book.

But such a long time has passed, that at this point I am not interested in finishing. I haven't seen the movies.
Sleuth by Anthony ShafferThe play that the movie "Sleuth" is based on, with Sir Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine.
If you haven't seen the movie, it is amazing.

Just starting
Where Eagles Dare by Alistair MacLean. Yes it is the book that the Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood movie was based on.

Never had that happen to me before. I read many books because I saw the movie so this was strange. I haven't seen Insurgent (was it released?) so hopefully that one will be a more enjoyable read when I get around to it.
Anyway, I'm now reading Raise the Titanic! which is so good I really have read for hours and not done much else. Hate putting it down.

And yes, there are a lot of differences between books and movies.
The second of the Maze Runner movies: Scorch Trials, had so many differences from the book (The Scorch Trials by James Dashner) it was almost like two entirely different stories featuring the same characters.
Same with "Blaze Runner" and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick.
Currently reading and almost finished with Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk. An excellent story with a bit of mystery to it. It was awarded a Newbery Honor (for children's literature) in January (2017).
Thanks, Beverly! You're most helpful. I'd best read book 3 Allegiant first before I see any of the three movies to the trilogy.

Some changes didn't even make sense to me but perhaps there were technical reasons. I've also read the Maze Runner series but I've only seen the first movie which did seem to follow the book fairly closely. Bladerunner loved the movie but except for the characters not really based on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? in my opinion. They feel like two separate stories but I love them both.
I just read this book for one of my Goodreads book clubs
Very strange book but interesting. Now, back to cozies LOL

I found the Divergent trilogy VERY up & down. Really wasn't crazy about the first one. Liked the 2nd one a bit better and thought the last one was the best one. Only saw the first 2 movies. They were so far off from the books I never felt compeled to watch the last one.
Just finished The Hidden Kingdom by Tui T. Sutherland and have started The Dark Secret, also by Tui T. Sutherland
I also like reading thrillers and suspense books. More recently my co-worker got me into reading YA books. I just finished The Madness Underneath the second in a series based in London with an air of mystery and ghosts in it. It was also an exception to the "sequel isn't as good as the first" rule. For any fellow librarians, The Librarian and the Spy which I finished a few days ago is a good combo of mystery, spy thriller and romance- I highly recommend it.

I read and right cozy mysteries. I just started reading Julia Buckley's A Dark and Stormy Murder. Looking forward to passing the time on a plane with this book.

Susan, make sure you are posting in the correct topic -- this one should have been in the "What cozy are you reading" discussion. '-)

Tues into Wed I read an early Hemingway novel, The Torrents of Spring -- very short, only 104 pages. It was okay. It's supposed to be a satire, but my feeling is that it probably helps if you know exactly what it is satirizing. The GR blurb says it "wonderfully parodies the themes and styles of the 'great race' of writers of his generation." Not. Helpful. How about being more specific -- like saying which novels/authors it is supposed to be parodying. Just my opinion. :-\
Anyway, I am now onto a reread of A Wrinkle in Time, which I've not read since...I have no idea. 5th grade? 6th? This is the September group read for a classics group. Got through the first two chapters last night before bed, and sadly know I will not get much reading time tonight. Tomorrow...

I got this on audiobook from the library. I'll be starting it tomorrow! Hope it's good. I usually like this author

Cover of Night by Laura Griffin 5-StarsSEALs kicking Tango ass and kissing the pretty girl. Great start for the month.

I am currently reading
Avengers of the Moon: A Captain Future Novel by Allen Steele.
Although published this year, it is very much old-fashioned, retro SF in the vein of Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon. Lots of adventure and traveling between planets and moons in the inner solar system. Good fun, without a lot of navel-contemplating.
I'm 1/4 through
. I decided to go back and read the books in order and I'm enjoying it tremendously, but since I have read them out of order--it's bittersweet. I'm also reading The Six Figure Author by Chris Fox - It's probably the best marketing book I've read. I should finish that today.
Finished a cozy yesterday, then ended up rereading Hiroshima, (thank you, NK) which I first read back in high school.
The Woman Who Couldn't Scream by Christina Dodd 4-StarsTwofer mysteries and romance with a touch of paranormal.

Just finishing A Scot in the Dark by Sarah MacLean (very good!) and then going on to a thriller - Snapped by Laura Griffin
6% of the way into
The Fires of Heaven by Robert Jordan. Book 5 of the Wheel of Time series. This will keep me busy for a while, nearly 900 pages long including the glossary.

I have this in Mount TBR. Glad to hear it's a good one!

I'm about halfway through Hawaii by James A. Michener. I usually have two books going at the same time and I finished People of Darkness by Tony Hillerman this weekend.
Finished Snapped by Laura Griffin and now I need something light - going for Beauty and the Blacksmith
