The book is called "Lady". Maybe published in the 70s. It's written from the perspective of a young boy who befriends a socialite in the '20s or '30s, maybe?

He discovers a secret relationship between her and her hired man.

I don't know the author's name, and when I search I find a hundred pages, at least, of entries with the word "Lady" in them. I don't know how to create my search to narrow down the entries to a manageable level, so I can find this particular book.

I'd like to add it to my "read" list and maybe see what others have had to say about the book.

Any suggestions on how to do this?
