PattyMacDotComma | 3310 comments Finally found a "J" book!

Lisa Jewell's new mystery will no doubt appeal to fans, but I found the conclusion less than I'd hoped for. 3.5★

Still, she's a good writer, and I did enjoy the characters and the way the story flowed. It's still available on NetGalley.

PattyMacDotComma | 3310 comments Finished June with #4 the very hot Instructions for a Heatwave by one of my favourite authors, Maggie O'Farrell. 4.5★

The father of an Irish Catholic family disappears and the adult kids come home, reluctantly. Hot, hot, hot. Bickering, interesting. And if you ever wanted to know how to say the lovely name "Aoife", check my review:

To add insult to injury, the author of this book (which I'm still not sure I like) visits Elsey Homestead and mentions "We of the Never Never" :-/

Snap, Zoey! Although the weather today looks like it could help, I doubt I will make it to the finish line on my 4th book. I'm up to p705, with almost 300 to go. I just have to hope it doesn't eat too far into my July reading time. I've rolled the Kate Forsyth book over to the July challenge.

#1. Nine Days by Toni Jordan* 5★
#2. The Last Painting of Sara de Vos by Dominic Smith* 4.5★
#3. A Place of Greater Safety by Hilary Mantel - Reading

The Penman book is over a 1000 pages!!!! She writes HUGE books. That would be the equivalent of 3 of my books :)

Still, there are a few hours until June finishes ;)

Great effort!

Well done Andrea - I really loved Bitter Greens and I agree Kate Forsyth is another author who writes enormous books. But her children's and YA books are much more normal sized!
