Oh, that worked??
Here it is :) https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
On your profile page is the book and that you have finished. Underneath it says, "see review" - click on that then highlight the https: etc in the top (above goodreads, home etc) and right click for "copy", then into this comment box right click and "paste"...
Hope that makes sense :)

Been dealing with computers for almost 30 years, Brenda, but the brain not so slick now. Fortunately I can still read and write OK :)

5★ for a terrific behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Aussie political TV documentary of the same name (but not uncut) The Killing Season Uncut by Aussie political journalist, ABC's Sarah Ferguson (wife of Tony Jones, well-known ABC interviewer and Q&A panel host, if you didn't know but are interested in that kind of thing).
Fascinating, funny, revealing look at the backroom wheeler-dealers and king- (and queen-) makers. Love all this stuff! I think the reports of the demise of the Labor Party was a bit premature. Or maybe they're all zombies?
My lengthy review (with lots of quotes)
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I've really enjoyed it actually. It was told in a rather casual conversational way so fairly easy for a plebeian like me to understand. I also like the way that he's picked a character here and there to share some of their personality and/or personal lives -made those long-ago soldiers feel more human; plus the 1 romance strand (sort of). I'd highly recommend this volume! Don't let the size intimidate you :)

#2. June is the first month of winter. Read a book set in winter or with a wintery scene on the cover. Or where the word WINTER is mentioned in the title.
#3. The Queen's birthday holiday is celebrated in all states except WA. Read a book about royalty/dogs/horses - Historical Fiction may fit this one.
#4. The north of Australia is still quite warm during June. Read a book set in the Northern Territory or the Australian outback. Alternatively read a book set somewhere warm.
#5. Reader's Choice: Any book of your choice: Burial Rites (this one is Australian) https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Having trouble finding good Australian stuff that also fits other categories AND my interest AND is not too expensive for me (poor right now) lol

4★ for real-life 'movie-script' Melbourne Cup winning jockey Michelle Payne's autobiography Life As I Know It, written with a lot of help from sportswriter John Harms.
One of 11 kids, widowed father, all into horses. She lives and works with youngest brother who has Downs Syndrome and was a strapper for the Cup winner.
She's gorgeous, funny, and absolutely indefatigable! Perseverance personified!
She's had many injuries over the years, and has now just gone home from hospital after another dreadful fall.

I've found some in our local library, both hard cover and e-books. Do you have a library wherever you are? The Open Library online might have something too. "Might" being the operative word!

No worries, Andrea, it's not that I didn't like it, I'm glad I read it, I just found it a little light-on I guess, not like many travel books which delve into more depth about a place

I finished my second challenge for June. Just have to tackle Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts from my first challenge now :/
