Codex | 3400 comments Can you check the ISBN of the book? The ISBN you provided doesn’t look valid: a 13-digit ISBN should start with “978–”.

That's where I took it from.

message 4: by Codex (new)

Codex | 3400 comments OK, but even so it’s not valid: the two on-line ISBN converters I tried both declared it invalid (check digit incorrect)—ignoring the strange “738–” prefix for the moment.

Neither Amazon nor WorldCat can find that ISBN (no surprise), and even the publisher itself cannot find it. Even more frustrating, the publisher does list what appears to be that book (as both “Uran” and “Udan”[?])—but without an ISBN. . . .

I’m hesitant to create a book based on uncertain details—especially the ISBN, which is a key element in the GR database.

Sara Saif | 12 comments Thank you. Um.. should I keep asking for more books here or create a different thread for each one?

message 8: by Abcdarian (new)

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Here is fine if it's for the same author that this topic is about. For other authors a new thread is better. They don't all have to be separate as long as the topic isn't specific to just one.

Sara Saif | 12 comments Title: آج اور کل (Aaj aur Kal)
Author: Umera Ahmed
Page Count: 10
Description: : Aaj aur Kal (English: Today and Tomorrow) is in the form of a digest reader’s comments on a particular writer’s writing style. It depicts human nature; how the human mind continuously deviates from one aspect to the next and dislikes lack of variation, it demands one “good” thing after another. And that fame and popularity go as quickly as they come.
Aaj aur Kal is available as part of a three story collection in Umera Ahmed's Husna aur Husan Aara.

Codex | 3400 comments #15: Can you provide ISBN, publisher, etc.?

message 17: by Sara (new)

Sara Saif | 12 comments It doesn't have an ISBN. It's one of her stories that were first published in a women's digest then published in a book with other stories as a collection. Husna aur Husan Aara has an ISBN. There are other books/stories of her like these created on Goodreads.

If it was not published separately, then it should not be added to Goodreads as a separate publication. The collection which includes it can be, if it is not here already.
