♚ [ History ] ♚ Kau was the last born in the royal family, and the Kingdom wasn't sure if he was even going to make it. He was a rather weak child, most thought he'd be dead by the time he was 12. But Kauai was resilient, and pushed through the weakness. Originally, his eldest brother Zaun was suppose to become Emperor once his father passed, but on Kau's 14th birthday, he stole that dream from his brother forever.
Flameweaving, lost to many generations of Royals, was suddenly revived when his Kingdom was attacked by the Northern Kingdom of Mireen. Kau himself fended off waves of Mireen soldiers by simply manipulating Flames from the palm of his hands.
♚ [ Personality ] ♚ Growing up, Kau was a quiet child. He wasn't openly shown to his Kingdom because his mother and father thought he was too frail. But after he proved his strength during the battle of Mireen, he has since become slightly entitled, and flirtatious. After being told he would become the next Emperor, instead of Zaun, he seems to feel like everything should be his whenever he wants it. Completely neglecting the fact that maybe not everyone thinks he's as amazing as he does.

History
Kaarina was born into a large, royal family, but she didn't get a chance to stay at the large family estate for very long. Her family had been waiting for her mother to give birth to a girl for years and years so she could take over her mothers job as the High Priestess when she was old enough. So she grew up in the smaller, yet still nice, mansion with her mother and a handful of servant and maids to care to her every need. She knew that she had many older brothers, but she never got a chance to meet them.
Kaarina did, however, find out that she was a Stoneweaver, which her mother had kept from her, wanting to focus on her studies to take over as the High Priestess. That didn't really interest her much though and she often spent time in the woods on the outskirts of town practicing and practicing until her servants had to come and find her and drag her back home. A quiet, yet kind child growing up, she was wasn't into the High Priestess stuff, she liked what she could do and wanted to make use of it.

Yush we shall!! Would you mind starting it off?? :3

Kauai took a deep breath, feeling the fire pass from his finger tips and into the air, lighting up the darkness of the Palace cellar with warm, charming light. He spent hours exhausting himself by producing flames until his eyelids drooped. "Kau?" his mothers voice echoed from the landing at the top of the staircase, bringing him out of his Flameweaving, and into reality. "Oh, coming!" he quickly put the flames out and rushed up the stairs, his mothers warm smile greeting him as he hands instantly went to his shoulders.
"You know your father is a very busy man, you can't keep leaving to weave, my little fire bug." She combed through his bright white hair gently as she lead him through the golden based foyer and into the council room where his classes took place. "Mum.." Kauai whined as she pushed him into his seat as the tutor tapped her foot impatiently. She was one of the acolytes from the High Priestesses church, not a bad looking woman, but also way too old to keep Kauai's attention for longer than ten minutes.

"Miss Kaarina, you know your mother expects you to read this chapter and write about it before she gets back today! Please don't go running off now!" one of her maids, Ereleth, said to Kaarina as she caught her moving towards the front doors of the house. Kaarina didn't stop though, she went to the front doors and put on her boots quickly, hearing Ereleth beg her to stay and finish.
"I'll have it done by the time she gets back, I promise. I'm just gonna run out for a little while. I'll be close, don't worry about me!" she replied to her with a wave of her hand, giving her a small wave before she pushed open the door and quickly left the safety of the house. She knew Ereleth was watching her as she left, but she didn't look back once as she jogged into town a little bit, the chains on her shorts chinking around as she went. Her mother had left about 20 minutes ago to gather up some supplies that they needed and wouldn't be back until later in the day. Which was good, it gave Kaarina a chance to sneak out for a little bit of practice while it was still light outside.

Hours seemed to have past, and if Kauai had to hear one more thing about how the Earth was the strongest element known to man, he would probably explode. Sure, Earth was pretty strong. Throwing rocks would hurt, but being burned to a crisp? Kind of seems more intimidating. "Yo, Kau!" Zaun's voice caught him off guard as he dragged himself through the foyer. "I hear Princess Thalia is coming down for a visit this week, aren't you excited?" Excited? For that ice queen? No thanks. If there was anyone, or anything Kauai couldn't stand more than rocks, it was Thalia.

"Gotcha!" a voice from behind her yelled and she turned quickly, seeing a rock coming her way. Rolling her eyes, she quickly weaved one from the ground and shot it at the larger rock, it breaking into smaller pieces. Making sure none of them hit her, she put her hand on her hip and grinned at her friend Neeham, another Stoneweaver, as he jumped down from a tree.
"Gotta do better than that you know," she teased him and the two of them started their regular playful practice of tossing rocks at one another, seeing who could get hit three times with rocks. It always lasted a fair amount of time, but normally, Kaarina was the victor of that.

"Father!" he groaned as the stormed into the palace's war room. His father stood around a large, round table with a map placed neatly in the middle of it. They seemed to be discussing fortification and other things since the last time they were attacked. "Hm? Kau? What is it, we're busy." his father barely looked up at him while his advisers placed little chest pieces that obviously meant something, but Kauai could never manage to figure that out.
"Thalia, I won't be her little guide this time." Kauai snarled, watching his father's brow flicker with annoyance. A loud, very obvious sigh erupted from his lips as he turned his full attention to his son. "Kauai.." he reached his hand forward, taking Kauai's gently as he chuckled. "She's to be your wife. One day, you'll have to entertain her for the rest of your life." Kauai didn't know if his father meant that as a very subtle grow up, or if he just wanted Kauai to have nightmares for the rest of his young life.

"Thats number two! One more and I beat you, again!" Kaarina yelled to her friend, yelping softly as he tossed another one at her. She peaked out to make sure the coast was clear, just in time to see a rock coming right at her. She didn't have time tomove before a splash of water dowsed the rock, making her blink.
"So, you thought you could do this without me again huh? I don't think so," their friend Ames said from her spot next to a tree she was leaning up again, grinning at them. Neeham shouted a few playful threats at the Waterweaver before going for her, Kaarina joining when she got a large splash of water right to her behind.
(( Replys may be a bit shorter and I'll be ghosting. I'm at work right now and replying over my phone haha ))

Kauai's brows knitted together as he squirmed his way out of his father's grasp. "Whatever." he barked before stomping out of the war room. Zaun was leaning against the pillar near the front of the foyer when Kauai came sulking in, a very amused smirk sprawled across his face. "Sucks being the heir to all of this, doesn't it little brother?" Zaun took hold of Kauai, gently rubbing his shoulders as the two made their way outside. "Yeah, it does." Kauai groaned, pulling himself free of his brother and making his way down the palace front steps. "Where are you going?" Zaun called from the top of the landing, pausing as he watched Kauai push the gates open.
"Out, so don't wait up." Kauai called back as he broke into a run towards the village. He never had time to visit the people of his Kingdom, but today he'd change that. Hopping through food carts and making small talk with some of the street thugs, he felt right at home.
He came across a booth of Stoneweavers who were making cravings for a very cheap price. He wasn't interested in buying anything no, but he really did like watching them weave. The way the Earth submitted to their fingers always made him slightly jealous.. Flames don't submit, they force you to dance.

The three of them played around for a while before they started to get tired from all the weaving that they were doing. Kaarina made sure she she hit both of them at least 3 times with small pebbles so that she still could say that she won. They settles down after that, sitting up against trees and eating the apples that Kaarina had provided.
"So what did you tell your mother this time Kaarina? How'd you trick her into letting you outta the house?" Ames asked from her spot across from her, taking a large bite of her apple. Kaarina and Neeham were eating as well, tossing pebbles back and forth with their weaving powers so that they still got a lot of practice in.
"Mother went into the city to gather up some supplies and meet with a few people, so she won't be back until later. I just let our maid Ereleth know that I was going, though she was against it completely," she replied with a simple shrug, knowing that the two of them knew who she was. It wasn't hard to pinpoint her after all. Neeham was also from a fairly rich family that had a small house here that he stayed at with his 2 older sisters. Ames on the other hand was from a more middle classes family, not too poor, not to rich. They just barely made it through. That's why Ames practiced so much. Waterweavers often would preform dances to show off their skill and Ames was one of the ones who did it. It was marvelous to watch really.

Kauai made his way through the carts, tipping some of the performers that he took the time to watch. But really, he just wanted to get away from the people. To get away from the responsibilities hanging over his head. Quietly, he slipped into the wooded area on the outskirts of the city, kicking stray pebbles and sighing as he made his way to a clearing.
At first he didn't notice, but after a few minutes of him flicking his fingers and watching the flames lick his knuckles, he noticed three people, around the same age as him across the river. Obviously they were his subjects, and his first thought was to get up and head deeper away from his little clearing, but when he saw the weaving, he instantly felt captivated. Young weavers... he knew they existed everywhere, but he was never allowed to leave the Palace boarders, so he never encountered anyone that wasn't already approved by his father.

"I bet your mother would flip if she learns that you went out. But your maids and servants are pretty good at keeping their mouths shut, right?" Ames asked as she finished off her apple, wiping her hands on her skirts to get the excess juice off. Neeham finished uo his as well, getting up with a loud sigh as she began to practice on his weaving skill more, not so much the picking and throwing part of it, but the bending the stone to make something.
"Yeah, most of them are pretty quiet when I go out, especially Ereleth. Marus on the other hand, that cook rats me out even if I take a second cookie from the jar," Kaarina replied with a roll of her eyes, looking over at Neeham,"Don't strain yourself too hard. Doing a lot of weaving just after you eat can make you sick." That earned her a scoff and Neeham sticking his tongue out at her. Kaarina and Ames both laughed at that as they stood up from their spots as well to practice, Kaarina throwing some pebbles around and Ames hitting them with her water. Thankfully they were right near a lake, just what Ames needed to do her thing.

Kauai watched the three of them, two Stoneweavers and a Waterweaver. "Interesting," he cooed to himself. He wanted to try and get their attention, but didn't know how. He was sure if he yelled that they wouldn't hear him, or, rather, his father had trained all citizens outside of the Palace boundaries to keep to themselves. Sighing, he dropped onto his bottom in defeat...before a brilliant idea popped into his tanned, beautiful head.
Standing, he took a deep breath and began the movements that had been taught to him through many hours of reading in the library, and weaving in the cellar. Kauai began the first bit of what was known to most as the dance of dragon's, a Flameweaver's basics. Instantly, Flames flickered and covered the air around him, the warm glow visible even in the sunlight.

"Is it a fish?" Ames asked, making Kaarina laugh out loud. Whatever it was Neeham had been so proud of obviously was not what he thought it was. He was a good spirit about it though and just shot a few playful words to Ames, which she returned before Neeham settled into practicing with the two girls.
"Hey, do you guys feel that? Like...warm?" Ames asked after a moment, furrowing her eyebrows a bit. Both Neeham and Kaarina stopped their weaving at their friends words, standing still and looking around. It did feel a little hotter. But Kaarina had to wonder if it was just because the sun came out from behind the clouds. Plus they were weaving and that could take it's toll on someone.

Flameweaving was hard work, and often made him feel dizzy after such a burst but he wouldn't give up. He wanted to make friends all on his own. Zaun had warned him that some of the citizens beyond the Palace boundaries didn't really like the royal family, but that didn't concern Kauai. Maybe if they'd let him speak to all of his subjects, then they wouldn't be so afraid of him and his family.

"Whoa...cool! Think it's a weaver?" Neeham asked, looking towards the girls, who both gave him the 'what do you think' look. Focusing as much as possible, Kaarina could make out a figure at the other side of the lake, a boy. The lake wasn't too wide, if they shouted a greeting, the boy would be able to hear. She was also able to make out what he was wearing. Giving Ames a little look, the Waterweaver just shrugged. This guy must have gotten their attention for a reason. Kaarina nudged Neeham, motioning towards the lake. Using their weaving, Ames parted the water a little ways while Neeham and Kaarine brought the land up a bit to make spots in the water for the guy. It was their way of inviting him over. Might as well find out about him right?

Once across, he stopped holding his breath, sucking in a large amount of air as the three others stared at him. "Greetings!" he said excitedly, his ember eyes glowing just like the flames he weaved. "I'm Kauai, son of Vaatu." the expression's that came after clearly told him exactly how shocking his appearance had been.

"Wait, what are you doing outside of the palace? Isn't that, you know, not allowed?" Neeham was the first to speak, giving Kauai a friendly, yet curious look,"Oh, I'm Neeham by the way. That's Ames and that's Kaarina." Kaarina would have kicked Neeham for letting him give out her name, she wasn't too big on talking to people that she wasn't use to after all. Sure, she was nice and she would be as kind as possible to this prince Kauai, but she was picky with her friends.

"So, you're both Stoneweavers, right?" He looked back and forth between Kaarina and Neeham. Not that it was wrong to be a stoneweaver, but really Kauai felt slightly envious. He knew how important Stoneweaver's were to the city, how they built the Palace he resided in. Even Waterweavers had a purpose. Flameweavers, were only ever used for one thing... war.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic**

"Yeah and you're a Flameweaver, right?" she questioned him, raising her eyebrow a bit. She knew that Flameweavers were typically dangerous and she knew it was also hard to weave fire because it very quickly got out of control, where as Stone, Water and Air was easily weaved to whatever the person doing it wanted. If something caught on fire, it was going to be on fire, but Waterweavers could stop something from drowning simply by lifting the water.

He studied the three of them, suddenly feeling like an outsider. They were all, so safe. So under control. They may not think so themselves, but he definitely was the wild card here. Only selective groups of people were allowed to meet him and his brother, he didn't quite think of his presence as something important, or special, but from the look on Neeham's face... he could tell he was really down playing his own existence. "I uh, it's nice to meet people my age, yeah?"

"Well, I've never met a Flameweaver before, so yeah, it is nice to meet you. I'm curious, cause I've heard it's hard to get the hang of it and learn it. That true?" Neeham asked him with a smile, his eyes not quite matching it though if you really looked at him. But he was generally nice, but wary.

"The trick you see, is to control the air around the flame, never the flame itself." He took a deep breath, slowly moving his hand around as the flame began to follow, making kite like gestures as he toyed with it. "Contrary to popular belief, flame's don't always mean destruction. The flame is a symbol for new life." Kauai loved talking about Flameweaving, he loved showing off, but most importantly... he loved proving others wrong.

"Wow, that looked really cool. You controlled it pretty well, considering I've been told it's the hardest to do. That and Stoneweaving. Waterweaving is the easiest," Neeham replied, nudging Ames. Ames looked over at him, giving him a playful look before splashing him with some water.
"It just gives us more opportunities to splash you with water while wasting little energy," she replied as Neeham wiped up her face, glaring at her, but it was all playful. Everything with them was pretty playful seeming.

"I learned a bit about Stoneweaving recently," he said, explaining a bit of background knowledge on the subject before dosing the flame by simply closing his hand. "Why don't you show me what's so great about it?" he winked, seemingly trying to entice Kaarina into the mix as well. "That is, if throwing rocks can be interesting." a childish grin danced on his lips.

"Alright then, what do you want me to show you?" she asked, stepping forward a bit more. She wasn't a show off, but she did know that she was one of the best Stoneweavers that lived around these parts. Not so much the fighting part, like she wasn't war material yet, but she could hold her own in a fight if she needed to and she was good at sculpting with it as well.

"I mean more, between the two stoneweavers, that's safe right? Tossing rocks at one another?" Kauai glanced between the two of them. Naheem didn't seem phased, honestly? He seemed thrilled to be able to perform for someone. "So, is it settled? Let the best Stoneweaver win!"

"Well I think she would have actually been the one to hurt you dude, but sure! I'm always up for a chance to kick Kar's butt," he exclaimed, looking at her and giving her a wriggle of his eyebrows. Scoffing at him, Kaarina threw a rock at him using her weaving, which he dodged, but just barely. Laughing afterwards, he moved a little bit away from her, ready for this whenever she was.

"I'm guessing she usually beats him, huh?" He said, gently bumping his shoulder into Ames. She was very attractive considering she was a Waterweaver. Unlike Thalia. He never took his eyes off the two Stoneweavers, though. Continuously marking and noting the way Kaarina moved, since she seemed to be the more superior weaver between Naheem and herself.
message 46:

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic**

"I've never seem anyone beat Kaarina, lets put it that way. Weather it's in a play fight such as this one or an actual fight," she explained, looking over at him. She was careful to control her Waterweaving around this guy, not able to afford an accidental slip up. Waterweavers and Fireweavers often hurt one another very much if they faced against each other because fire and water were being used against one another. Water could put out fire, but fire could also evaporate water. Best to stay on this guys good side basically.

He could sense the tension between Ames and himself, almost causing steam to appear between them. He tried to think of a way to kind of, break the ice. But there wasn't much to say to a stranger. "So, do you water dance?" he asked, finally glancing over at her. He wasn't much taller than she was, but he liked feeling superior in height.
message 48:

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic**

"Yeah, it's how I help out my family. I'm not exactly a fighter with my water, I much prefer the preforming part of the weaving," she explained, thankfully not having to look up very far to see him. Ames was taller than Neeham, who was 5'4 and even taller than Kaarina, who was 5'6. Ames stood at 5'9, so while she was very petite in body figure, when dealing with body height she was roughly in the same range as most guys her age.

Neeham had obviously took a stone right to the face, or at least, that's what Kauai assumed as he watched the poor guy sink to the ground holding his eye. "Whoa! Are you okay?" He called over, before jogging to where the boy sat, Kaarina beating him there by a few seconds. "Jeez, you're pretty rough aren't you." he mused as he knelt down, heating the centre of his palms as he pushed Neeham's hands away from the forming bruise. "This is gonna be hot, but please don't squirm." he pressed his hand over Neeham's eye, and then turned and motioned Ames to come beside him. Fire and water, hot and cold, perfect combination for healing.
{ I'm thinking that maybe he gets interested in Ames, and Kaarina's like NO WAY BUDDY SHE'S MY FRIEND. Then that can start a little feud between them? And from there they spend so much time trying to tick each other off that they end up falling for one another? }

Ames listened to Kauai and was going to reply when she heard Neeham groan. He had been trying to get Kaarina, but it back fired on him pretty quickly. And of course, Kaarina didn't mean to do it. So when it hit him, before he was even falling to the ground she was running over. But Neeham was strong and he wasreally just laughing it off.
"Well, now I know what to now do again," he said to Kaarina, winking at her, though that just hurt his eye more,"I'm fine I'm fine, really." Kaarina wasn't so sure though. While both of them did get hurt at least a little bit in practice, she always did feel bad when she hurt him on accident. Ames, on the other hand, just rolled her eyes.
"What kind of an idiot, how did you manage to do that?" she asked as she came closer and bend down a little bit in front of Neeham. He just stuck his tongue out at her and chuckled. Rolling her eyes, she moved some water over to his eye to sooth it for him, not really having any sort of healing powers like some Waterweavers did, but cold water went a long way.
