Elayne rescues the Panarch from torture from one of the black sisters.
Nyneave fights one the Forsaken and wins (albeit with a bit an unusual curveball, throwning the sangreal at her). But their battle attracts the black ajah. They have an artifact that throws Balefire around. VERY dangerous.
And that's where I left off for the day. Lol.

So after all that, basically Nyneave just walks out. A bit of a letdown to end that arc. I am curious exactly what Elayne did to the Panarch though. And what happened to Moghedien? I don't remember! Though I do recall some of her activities later on.
So the wannabe Shaido chief somehow got fake dragons on his arms and tried to claim he's the real "He who comes with the Dawn". I like they way Rand handles it though. Rand is a bit too good at this stuff considering his upbringing though. Does this wisdom come from Lew's Therrin's memories? Is he just a quick learner? I try not to think about it too much.
So now we have some kind of portal magic. That really changes the game, especially if Rand can harness it to move troops. How hard would it be to stop an army (of Aiel no less) if Rand can move them wherever he needs. Of course he'll need to rely on Asmodean to teach him how to do that. Dangerous proposition, especially when it was Lanfear's idea.
I originally thought Rand gentled Asmodean, but it sounds like he just cut him from the Dark One/True source, and could still channel if he wasn't kept shielded? I'm not really sure.
I'm looking forward to the next book, though we'll have to do a better job scheduling it at a time we can all definitely read it. And I really hope it doesn't start out nearly so slow as this one did. I didn't think it got slow until book 7 or 8.

Over-all, this book falls into the top-4 category for best books in the series, in my opinion. I love the way everything expands in this book, beyond the main characters, beyond the main quest. And Perrin is at his absolute best in this book. I like him in later books too but there's just the right combination of awesome and innocence in this book that he really resonates with me.
Rob has covered most of the points happening in these chapters, also we come to know that Dark one acts as a filter for forsaken male Aes sedai when the touch the true source which keeps them from going mad, it is that filter that Rand cuts Asmodean off from and also shield him from yielding the one power.Rand also manages to destroy Rhuidean almost but in turns makes it habitable place due to water now available in it.
When you guys plan on reading the next book ?
Sorry, I missed this post somehow.
I'm kind of backed up in audio at the moment. End of July or sometime in August would be the earliest I could do it.
