Perrin discovers the ways have been reopened, but by who? Lord Luke? Slayer? (Still wondering if they are the same person), Padan Fain?
But he's been hurt and sheltering first with the Tinkers, then in Emond's Field. Gaul and Loial have gone off on their own.
Perrin is feeling guilt over the men he got killed.
I'm really enjoying Perrin's story. I found him annoying at the start of the book, but now I'm more convinced the first 20% of this book is just kind of bad.
We flip to the girls a bit in this section as well, and they have finally arrived in Tanchiko. I'm confused about the circumstances of the men who attack them.
I feel like this Egianian (spelling; the woman who "saved") them was the same one we saw earlier looking for some women. It's possible it wasn't the same women or that she's looking for someone else. I think she's the one with a former Suldan whose been collared locked in her basement though.
So she may have simply been looking for Aes Sedai to experiment with, or maybe learn from. Has she changed her mind after having tea with them? I haven't finished the chapter I'm on, so maybe that'll be clarified in this section still.
Just after she leaves, it seems like the girls meet a female Forsaken. It doesn't seem like Lanfear, but I don't really know the others. She's apparently really good at manipulating people and their memories though. I should probably remember who she is from my previous read, but I don't. lol.

Wow, that's some final chapter for this section. Elaida led a coup, and now Siuan and her speaker (forgetting her name) have been gentled.
They've been rescued thanks to Min, and Gawald. The latter is more surprising as we find out he back Elaida's coup and put down several prominent warders who had planned to save Siuan from being gentled. So in a way he's just as guilty for what happened to her.
I understand he's frustrated at her for not telling him the truth about where his sister is, and that he grew up with Elaida, but I was shocked at that. It sounds more like something Galad would have done.
On their way of Tar Valon, they find and recruit Logain. That seems unwise, especially given Min's visions.

Perrin's story and the White tower story along with Rand in Rhuidean are fascinating aspects for me in this book. The events in Tanchiko are a bit difficult for me to understand as there are a lot of groups involved over there.Perrin and two rivers people are fighting the Trollocs tooth and nail, he is also becoming a ruler of sort in two rivers as people are taking all decisions consulting him. The prophecy we saw regarding Tinker with sword comes true when Aram takes up the sword finally and gives up the way of the leaf. Who exactly is slayer ? is he lord luke ? or padan fain ?.
The white tower is finally broken as Min saw in her vision at the start of the book and Elaida grabs power stilling Siuan and Liana. Looks like the princes of Andor come dumber by the dozen, just when you had Mr right Gallad so we have Mr dumb Gawyn who manages to kill the warders who were trying to recue Siuan. I hope both these guys come to some dastardly end in the coming books, as I can't stand them anymore.
In Tanchiko we have lot of players on the ground
1. Eganin : I think she is Suanchen who is trying to find all the Aes sedai who escaped from their clutches.
2.Black sisters : They are trying to find sangreal hidden in the palace which will bind Rand to them, in their search for that they are manipulating Jachim Carridin the hand of light who turns out to be Bors whom we saw I think in the last book, in a meeting with dark lord and his followers.
3.Forsaken : They manipulate Nyaneve and Elayne and prize out all the information from them.
