I've got Varney the Vampire on my list. But the task is that it needs to be set before 1900, not necessarily published before then. So you could even read something like The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey.







It only has to be set before 1900, so there are a few "modern" suggestions as well. Will list a few later in the week.
I've just read Frankenstein and I've got Jane Eyre pegged for task 3. Might do either Dorian Gray or the Stevenson.
I've just reread Entombed which is about Poe so that's quite tempting as well.
