June 2016 Book of the Month Nominations - Closed

Nominations are now being accepted for our June Book of the Month. You may nominate any book from the Mystery/Suspense/Thriller genre or from any one of the many sub genres, with the exception of books by J.D. Robb and Nora Roberts. We explore Robb's In Death series in Buddy Reads & other discussions in this group. And we read & discuss Nora Roberts books with our sister group, Nora Roberts Groupies. We encourage you to join the discussions any time.

*Nominations for our June Book of the Month will be accepted through May 22. The poll for voting will open May 23 and close at midnight on May 29.

Monthly Book Nomination Guidelines:

1-Each member may nominate 2 books per month. Please include a link to the book that you nominate.

2-Only nominate books that you intend to read and discuss with the group.

3-If your nomination wins the poll, we would love for you to consider leading the Book of the Month discussion for that month. Leading the discussion can be as simple as sharing your thoughts and encouraging others to share theirs, or you may prefer to post questions concerning the plot, characters, etc. The choice will be yours if you decide to lead the discussion.

4-Nominated books must be from the Mystery/Suspense/Thriller genres or one of the many sub genres.

5-Nominated books must be the first book in a series unless the Robb group has read the preceding books previously.

6-J.D. Robb and Nora Robert books are not eligible for nomination. We invite you to join us as we explore the In Death series books in our In Death Buddy Reads and enjoy discussing the Nora Roberts titles in our sister group, Nora Roberts Groupies.

7-Should an issue arise that results in the winning book being disqualified, the book that received the 2nd most votes will automatically become the replacement Book of the Month.

I nominate After the Crash by Michel Bussi.

I think Vanished sounds great, Agnieszka. I've planned to read Elliot's prior series, Bones Secrets, for some time. Have you read any of that series?

For those who may be planning to read the Bones Secrets Series later on - I've heard Mason Callahan from Kendra Elliot's Vanished, (Callahan & McLane Series #1), appears first in her prior series - the Bones Secrets.

This is a new author to me and since I read so many good voices and Vanished is the winner of the pick it for me (PIMF) from my list from a different group for June of new authors to me I'll start with this one :-)
If I like it enough I even might read the first three books from the series in one go. A few month ago they were available on Amazon.de on a big time sale (Germany only) so I grabbed all three :-))))))

From the Bones Secrets series I don't have the books 2-3.5 yet so I wanted wait until I'll get at least another book two and three if possible before I start with this one. Though with this information now I'm not really sure what to do. I hate spoilers and I fear there'll be plenty of those. In that case I have to think about it.

With the other book there is no risk of spoilers of any kind since it's a stand alone novel :-)

Hidden was a Robb group read in October 2015. I had actually forgotten about it myself as I wasn't able to read it at that time.

Vanished won the poll in October 2015 - but the majority decided to read Hidden instead because of the issue of spoilers.
