Jeffrey, I have a non-iDevice and use Audible Download Manager to download from Audible to import to Audible Manager on my Win10. Then I transfer the audio from Audible Manager to my Sansa by connecting via USB.
You can find the Audible Manager here:
Audible Software for Windows PC
Select 'Download to my computer' on the right hand side.
Instructions for both here:
How can I set Audible Download Manager to import audiobooks to AudibleManager?
Other Windows transfer options here:
How can I download audiobooks to a Windows computer?

Hmmm.... I don't use an audible app on my Win10 computer, but will look into it, and see what I can find out. I do know that when I download my books to my computer they are hidden in a file called (wait a minute while I go look).... ok it's:
Public->Public Documents->Documents->Audible->Programs->Downloads
The files have really long names but you can see the titles in the name. You could then drag and drop those files to the memory card so that your android can see them.... a bit of a pain at first, but it will probably become automatic after a while. <><

Thank you for that information and those links. I will check them out!

I found the Public Document file, but there is no Documents file listed under it and of the other files that are listed all of them are empty. There has got to be a way to find where the files are hidden.

Huh! I got it too.... <"
I want to chain myself to it in protest.

Jeffrey, try doing a search on .aa (dot a a) on your main drive where your computer automatically saves stuff. Looks like they are all .aa files. I think that's how I found them. Please let me know if that works. If it doesn't I'll try to figure out another way to find them. <><

We were talking about the A. J. Hartley/David Hewson novel Macbeth read by Richard Armitage. I knew that I had purchased Macbeth, but didn't remember Armitage reading it.... that's because he didn't read the one I purchased in 2012. He read it again in 2014. My copy is read by Alan Cummings, and was released in 2011, which I mentioned to the group. One of the ladies tried to find it, but couldn't. I figure that when they got Armitage to read it, they let the Cummings one go, but I really don't know for sure.
So, anyway, because others can't find the Cummings version, I figured I ought to make sure it is on my computer somewhere, so I know I will have it. I had to serch for it by author and was able to get it, but thought that I would also look at the actual order when I purchased it. Went to my account and looked at the purchases for 2012, and it just isn't there. Weird. I do have access to the book, but it doesn't show in my account anywhere but in my library.
Anyhow, just thought it was strange. <><

Well! The good news is that I did find the audio files. The bad news is that not one of them has the name of the book in it. They all begin with things like B001B...The only reason I know they are the audio files is because the majority have yesterday's date on them, when I downloaded a ton of books, and the size of the files matches the sizes of the books I downloaded.

Robin, I did the exact same thing. It took a little work but now I can slice and dice it in the manner of my choosing.

I am a market researcher. It makes me wonder if they did any market research with customers prior to this debacle or if they conducted any user experience testing.
Hey Audible, why not build a customer panel to test these things in advance? I'm sure you could recruit a large sample of your best customers through this thread. After completing a couple of surveys, you could issue a code for a free book in return. A very cost-effective way to stay engaged with customers and test new ideas. It's what I do in my industry and customers love to give their opinions. I've re-designed our customer bill through this method and it led to an improvement in our J.D. Power scores.

Ok, Jeffrey, now I have a new question for you.... did you use the audible download manager or the audible windows app to download your files. Mine come out like this:
ALittleLifePart3_mp332_CoKdpjeyllLbbLR9Pz8NJSjdNiMxgSVaBC0aCN8ZJb0IQmixoSORJyAvZhqN.aa
I use the download manager, so I'm wondering if using the audible Windows app would make the files have a different name.
Is there any way to tell which file is which when you look at them on your computer, or do you have to start one playing to find out which one it is? <><

Why would AUDIBLE.com be logical and have actual customers try a new program? Why make it easy and be logical.

I suspect that the more people started using it (and using the "show more"button!) it overheated the servers...

Good point... however, perhaps, (we can only hope) that they will listen to customers' complaints about it and rethink their ideas.
Which, brings up another point.... perhaps they changed things back because their customer service lines were inundated with loud, angry calls from customers so that the lines got bogged down too... and you know what happens when you are angry to start out with, then you have to wait on hold an extra long time before anyone will even listen to your complaint.... not pretty.... <><

I agree, Grumpus! I know Audible sometimes responds to concerns on some of our threads, but I think they could do much more with our input. This group represents a variety of ages, locations, amount spent on audiobooks, etc. The one thing we have in common is passion for the product.

I used the Windows 10 Audible app. There is no way I can tell to figure out what is what without actually listening to it. If I can install the download manager I can download a few books with it and see if it makes a difference. How do I get the download manager?

Ah, excellent an easy question.... This link has all kinds of good helpful stuff for you....
Audible Support Page
It looks like Audible wants you to go thru either iTunes or Windows Media Player if you don't want to use the audible app... since you want to play it on an android, I would tell it you want to go thru Windows Media Player, first to test it.
I also noticed when I was looking this stuff up, that you can change your save location when you are setting up your download manager.... You could create a file for your audible books, then you wouldn't have to search for them.
Let us know how it all works out. <><

Thank you for your help, MsJodi! I will give this a try and see how it works out.

Sidemenu with finished/unfinished - I like the total book count and the finished/unfinished info, especially. (HINT: Like others, I had to update my info there - if you use the app, you can do it there without playing (or even downloading) the book. Click the 3 dots at the end of the book line to pop up a menu. This includes "Mark as Finished". Did not find any equivalent on the website)
Time left - not so interested in this info, I really preferred total time for the book! I know I can sort by total time in the new format, but that is not as helpful. Best (for me) would be total time in this column with the option to use the sidebar sort to get unfinished!
Reader - I like seeing this! Not sure why we still can't sort or search by reader, tho... I would find this useful
Rate and Reviews - I really missed this since I, like others, used the stars as a quick visual for books I had finished! I can get around this by being more careful to mark "Finished" on books.
SEARCH - I did not seem to be able to get results in the table if I searched on only part of a name (like "Dick") - I got results in the dropdown, but I used to be able to hit enter and get all results in the table format. This did not seem to be the case with the new page - sounds like some bugginess there)
PAGING - I agree with others that having to go to the bottom of the page and hit "Load More" was a pain. I know that is the cleaner more current look, but it just does not work as well for larger libraries (mine is up in the 500 book range) as the "Previous 1 2 ... 8 NEXT".
SORTING - The dropdown menu of sort options does not have as much flexibility as the column sort did, in particular I did not see how to reverse the sort. As I mentioned earlier, I would have liked reader to be included in the sort as well.
Since audible has only a limited width in their webpage format, something has to give up space to fit the new sidebar and reader column, but losing 6 !!! (5 if you consider the time left column the equivalent of the length one) of the previous 9 information columns seems like too much to trade for the value of the new sidebar plus reader.
Comments here seem to indicate that each of the original 9 columns was very useful to some readers - which would you be willing to give up for the sidebar and/or reader columns?
I, personally, use "Download Status", "eBook Companion", and "Listen" (the download button) the least.
I think I would trade off the "Download Status" check column for one that checked "Finished" - then I guess I could give up the "Rate and Review" /grin...
