In Until the End which is an omnibus of the Final Friends series, a girl named Maria falls from i think a parade float and is paralyzed and she's dates Nick, a basketball player. I cant remember if there is a specific scene where he carries her at graduation though.

All i can remember is this girl (who was not the main character) was standing on a tall wooden tower and it collapsed. She ultimately fractured her back and couldnt walk anymore. I do remember this tall brown guy (i remember thats how it was phrased) was a basketball player and had picked her up and carried her across stage for her high-school graduation. He liked her. The wooden tower collapse happened at the school.
