Killian (killianperry) | 2 comments Hope this is the right place to post this. I am reading this comic book series, and in each issue so far there are *way* more reviews for the books themselves rather than the actual comics. For instance, Issue #2 of the comic (which is strictly about the first book, Game of Thrones) has a ton of reviews for the Clash of Kings *book* which is second in the series.

Is there a way to get these reviews moved that doesn't involve reporting every single one? Because it's the majority of the reviews on each of these earlier issues. The reviews don't need to be removed completely, just moved to the actual book they wrote the review for instead of the comic that they mistakenly wrote their review on.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments Librarians can't help with reviews. We can only help with correcting book and author entries.

You will have to flag each one. You could try collecting a list of links to all of them, and using the contact us form ( https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta... ), but I expect you'll be told there to simply flag each one.

Killian (killianperry) | 2 comments That's what I thought, but thank you for confirming. I'll get started on it. Thanks!

Yes, but a comic book version of the book is not another edition of the book; it's a separate entity. In that case it should be moved by staff. I don't know if they do this, but they should.

Lobstergirl Another example is where people shelve, rate and review the Harold Bloom literary criticism book about another book, when they meant to review the book itself. E.g.:

I'd say that is their own responsibility. They should be able to tell from the cover (and the host of authors) that it's not the actual novel. If they can't it's sad, but why should GR have to clean it up?

Lobstergirl Normally I would agree, but there are some books where the number of people rating and reviewing the wrong book is so enormous that it really messes with statistics. For example:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9...

That is the piano/vocal/guitar sheet music for the Narnia Chronicles! All those people thought they were rating the book or books, not the sheet music. 18,149 people. Those ratings are not accruing to the book or the series, so the series is not getting full credit so to speak.

This was a case where the sheet music was mistakenly combined with the books, and then much later got separated, taking all the ratings/reviews with it.

In some of the Harold Bloom cases, I'm sure that's what happened too, although not all.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments It is annoying when you're trying to read reviews of a book and they're all for something else, but I guess that's why there's an "Incorrect book" choice when you flag a review.

I've never been annoyed enough to actually use it though, so I can't say if they'll move a review or not. All I know for certain is that librarians can't, so flagging is really all that can be done.

I didn't know that option was there, thanks! I now flagged the P&P review, let's see if they do anything about it.

There is a librarian note on this edition saying not to combine with P&P, so you may well be right.

Yes, but a comic book version of the book..."

And I would be really pissed if GR moved my review from one book than other

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 198 comments I've only encountered this a few times, and usually just leave a nice comment for the reviewer. Usually they are glad to fix it.

This is not a Librarians Group issue, but one for the Contact Us link on the Help page. Librarians can help with issues pertaining to specific book records or most related issues, but have no control over general site functionality or related issues. Closing thread.
