Cameron Sant I just found out that William Sleator was gay.
He wrote Interstellar Pig and Singularity, books that my 5th grade English teacher read out loud to the class--I'm happy that I was hearing queer voices even before I was able to seek them out on my own.

I know William Sleator wrote gay stories for How Beautiful the Ordinary: Twelve Stories of Identity and Am I Blue?: Coming Out from the Silence, but I was wondering did he ever have any LGBT characters in his novels?

Dani V | 1 comments This takes a bit of out-of-the-box thinking, but one could argue that Moyna in Interstellar Pig is transgender. Moyna is a female, gas-filled octopus-like creature from Flaeioub, yet when visiting Earth, she assumes the male human persona of Manny using Disguise Selector equipment.
