According to the rules, it is also allowed to read Fantasy so I will at least read two specific Sci Fi books and then I will read a few Fantasy books as well.

Wednesday 6/1-16
This morning I started listening to Alien Shores by Vaughn Heppner which is a Sci Fi book. It is the second in a series and the first was okay.
I needed to read Prom Nights from Hell by Meg Cabot for another challenge so I read all of it today. I had been looking forward to this book of short stories. Fantasy / Paranormal short stories written by a some authors I like. Well, I expect a short story to be a short complete story and unfortunately none of the stories in this collection achieved that. They all felt like they were continuing.
Thursday 6/2-16
Sill listening to Alien Shores by Vaughn Heppner
I got Butter Witch by Tess Lake for free from Amazon recently. I was really disappointed as it was a total rip of Amanda M Lee's series The Wicked Witches of the Midwest.
Friday 6/3-16
Managed to listen to 54 pages of Alien Shores by Vaughn Heppner today but that was all.
Saturday 6/4-16
I have now finished Alien Shores by Vaughn Heppner and I might just try and listen to the third book in the series this week as well.
Sunday 6/5-16
I didn't read anything for this challenge today but I did listen to and finish Single by Saturday by Catherine Bybee.
Monday 6/6-16
Started listening to Alien Wars by Vaughn Heppner, book 3 in the Fenris series. I wanted to start reading Ambassador 1: Seeing Red by Patty Jansen but decided against it. Instead I am reading The Ivory and the Horn by Charles de Lint which has a main page genre of Science Fiction though it is of course more Urban Fantasy.
If all goes well, I should be able to finish them both tomorrow.
Tuesday 6/7-16
Well today just didn't go as expected, I only got around to listening to 147 pages of Alien Wars by Vaughn Heppner

Michelle from seasonsreading is hosting a new Read-a-Thon.
I am very excited about this RaT, not so much because it is SciFi but because I know I am not going to be able to take part in her High Summer RaT in July.
I take part in as many of Michelle's RaTs as possible but as my summer holidays are spent in the outdoors I usually have to miss her High Summer Rat.
This is the first SciFi Summer RaT.
I am hopeless in preparing for specific RaTs but I have two books ready.
I recently listened to the first in this series and it was okay. I have finally started listening to audible again and that will give me an extra book for the week.
This is free on Amazon.
The idea for this event was inspired by Mallory (The Haunted Reading Room) when she asked in the comments, "Can we do a sci-fi readathon sometime? I thought to myself, "Why not?" After all, I do host the Christmas Spirit Read-a-Thon in between my four other read-a-thons, AND I am sorely behind on my Sci-Fi reading. So, here we are...Sci-Fi Summer!
Details:
Read-a-Thon dates: Wednesday, June 1 at 12:00am CST until Tuesday, June 7 at 11:59pm CST (adjust your time zone accordingly). I wanted to try out a different day configuration this time.
Since Sci-Fi is a very specific genre, this will be strictly reading science fiction during the event. However, since fantasy is so closely related to science fiction, if you feel more comfortable reading fantasy, that is also fine.
to check in on Twitter, we'll use hashtag #SciFiSummerJune
as usual, you do not have to have a blog to participate...feel free to link up and check in from Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, etc. These days, it seems most of our activity goes on in our Facebook group which I love. The interaction in our group is fabulous!
Since this is a spur of the moment event, I'm not sure I will be able to secure any prize donations, but I will offer a small prize from me.
I hope you're as excited as I am! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me via the contact tab.
