The Archbishop exerted pressure over law enforcement by revoking the scholarship for Paluka's daughter and funding for the chief's wife's hospital expansion. Do you think his behavior was realistic, mirroring what may have happened in real life?

Phrynne | 607 comments I really hope this cannot happen in real life! One assumes that even Archbishops are accountable to others for their actions!

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I agree, Phrynne. That didn't ring true for me, but I didn't question his curtailing of the nun's travel expenses and programs.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I know the Archbishop would have a lot of power and influence in the town, but I don't think he would be able to revoke a college scholarship or the funding for a hospital expansion.

I felt this was to illustrate how powerful the church can be outside of its walls and religious community. The Archdiocese in northern Virginia is extremely powerful, with an extraordinary financial reach. I was blown away when I discovered the scope of their involvement in major community projects.
