Luella | 0 comments Hey all.

I am helping with this club as co-moderator. :)

I know a lot of threads here were a bit out-dated so I have archived a few of the ones that won't be kicked up again.

I added a challenge folder and will be adding some other things as well.

There are quite a few still open though including Poetry and discussions about movies, individual authors etc.

May questions are, of the old threads that remain which would you like to see revitalized. And what would sort of discussions would you like to see in this club.

Daniel Clark I saw that the group was interested in buddy reads. I couldn't find a discussion thread for setting these up.

If I want to set up a buddy read (or see what others are going to read), where do I do that?

Luella | 0 comments We had left it to a group vote but so far the overwhelming majority have voted for yes. If the poll indicates that this is a given I will be posting up a spot for this at the end of this month.

Daniel Clark Great. I'll check it out. Thanks! BTW you are my favorite moderator :)

Dianne I'm new here so I can't speak to what I would miss but I'm not sure we need the old old threads on movies etc since no one has updated them in ages. I'm glad you added a challenge thread. And I like that there is just one book at a time here, with a reading schedule. I wonder if there's a way to informally poll who will actually sign on for a monthly read, since some vote and don't read it , and others pick a different book but still go with the group read. Thanks so much for organizing everything!

I really wasn't sure what to do with those so far but maybe after this set of polls clears I can take a vote on those too. A yay or nay. Or maybe (hopefully) many more members will chime in on this thread about them or maybe even members will want to re-energize them.

I did see some interest in the poetry corner from a few members but not much interest in the others.

I'm glad you like the challenge idea. :) Maybe we could start an informal sort of thread about the monthly read bit, that could be interesting.

I know as far as nominees, one of the chief complaints before was that some items made it on the plate but didn't make it against the heavy hitters kind of thing. I think when Rose took the suggestion from a member to do themes that was really helpful since then we have seen a nice mix of nominations. For example: Tender is the Night was up against some more widely known established classics but actually pulled through.

I'm glad the new organization plan has been well received. I do think it's funny though that I am not good coming up with Reading Schedules. That is totally Rose's deal. :)

Dianne Agree, themes is a great way to get the less well known works on the radar!

Thanks for your help Luella!
