Question about a book with scripture refrences

I'd say no, you don't need to read every reference, and I haven't been doing that. Number 5, for example, doesn't say, "A commentary on a book of the Bible and all verses it references." If the verses are not part of the book, then there's no requirement to read them, even though reading all of them would certainly be beneficial.
