Elisabetta | 2 comments I'm looking for a book I read in 2006-ish but I think it was published in the 80's-90's. I remember the cover had a girl with red hair holding a cat. I read it in italian but I think it was set in either Germany or somewhere in northern Europe.
The main character was a girl between 12 and 14 years old with red hair, she had a red cat and went around on a bicycle, and later on there's a boy who she's friends with. It was a collection of short stories centred around various crimes the main character solved; the first story was about a robbery in a neighbour's house where she was babysitting, she protected the baby and later caught the thief. Another story involved a fake chinese vase or something like that in a museum, where she was interviewing the director for a school project, who turned out to be a fraud (she was called Miss Jensen?). I can't remember the other stories in detail but there was something about a videocassette containing a secret clue that she managed to steal from the baddies, and an old lady she befriends who helps her out. There was also a story about a swimmingpool and a drowned girl.

Summer | 276 comments It might be the Said The Cat series?
The protagonist is a redheaded teen with an orange cat. I read Poison Said The Cat, which is about someone poisoning people as revenge for her daughter drowning on the swim team years ago.
