Hero was determined to keep her pregnancy secret from Sebastian. Your thoughts about this decision and whether you believe she would have eventually let him know?

While I understood her reasoning given the fact that she was determined to remain independent, I really wanted her to tell Sebastian sooner. He had a right to know after all.

I would like to think that she would have told him but as he figured it out himself I suppose the point is moot.

I agree, Lauren. He couldn't force her to marry him and he had a right to know he was going to be a father. I'm not sure she would have ever told him if her plans hadn't been derailed by Bishop Prescott's death and her father's later threat against her mother.

I was angry with Hero at this point. Her far-flung plans were not at all fair to Sebastian. Now I have to worry until the next book to see whether he goes after Kat, even though he knows/suspects about hero's condition.

I think Hero's decisions were totally in keeping with her character. She's been very clear on her stance on marriage and having a child out of wedlock carries huge consequences for her so, really, her choices were , in her view, between worse and worse. I'm not sure she would have gone through with the adoption even if Prescott had lived since she did change her mind about wanting the McCains to have her child.

I felt for Sebastian when he was faced with the idea that his child might grow up without knowing about him, since it mirrors his own situation. But I still got a lot of amusement at his efforts to track her down all over town and her giving him the slip. :-)

Yes, Hero's evasive maneuvers were very amusing and I love how she drove him to distraction looking all over for her.

Haha, yes, the dance scene. You could almost feel Sebastian's frustrations pouring out of him.

I have to admit that I argued with Hero often for not telling Sebastian about the baby. It would sit better with me if she told him but still refused to marry him. Of course you can count on Jarvis to be overbearing. I wonder if he will find out that it is his fault that Sebastian is his son-in-law.

I loved the way Hero avoided Sebastian too. It added a level of levity to the story.
