Sebastian was asked by his aunt, Henrietta, to investigate Bishop Prescott's murder and he accepted. Do you think he's beginning to understand that his interest goes beyond fulfilling an obligation to someone else?

Yes I do. I think he is becoming aware that he has a need to discover the truth regardless of what it costs him.

[Jonetta]

I think so, too, Phrynne. He finds a way to justify his inquiry but deep down, he's completely intrigued and is a natural.

[Charlene]

I agree, although being asked by his aunt would seem to move the inquiry right along!

I agree, this is something that Sebastian has found he's good at. Plus, like Bessie tells him, justice and truth have become his touchstones.

I think Sebastian finally realizes that he has a talent for this kind of thing but finding the truth is his main motivation.

I think that his interest goes beyond fulfilling an obligation to someone else. His character proves it all. He is such a selfless person, and cares for solving the truth, before he cares for himself, and makes sure justice is served.
