I adore the take on this new Cinderella story. I really love the fact that this Cinderella is POC as well. That and the fact that there's a Sc-Fi / Fantasy twist in the story as well is awesome.
I love that Cinder is no damsel in distress. I also love that she is unsure of her ability to lead the rebellion. It makes her character seem so much more alive.

Finally got my copy from the library and am about halfway through. So far, surprised by how much I like this. I skipped it for years because the idea of a sci fi retelling just wasn't winning me over. Happy it was chosen so that I had a bit more of a push to read it.

Finished it last night and then had to track down all the rest of the series. I have so many other books that I have to read before I commit to a full series, but oh well, in for a penny ....
I've just started this ! It's so good so far but this volunteering program is evil ! I'm not sure how it can go from here so I'll be surprised either in a good or bad way or guess !
I know this is an old thread thing, but I have finished the book ! It was pretty good I think, and I actually enjoyed all of it. It is encouraging me to look into reading other retellings; I've never really thought to read any before !
However, though I loved the world, I did think that the worldbuilding was not too good and well developed ... there was so much I was left wondering about !
