Athena Parthenos

The huge statue of Athena that sits on Half-Blood Hill.

September was sitting at the bottom of the Parthenos looking out at the sky with no expression on her face.

Brianna saw her sister sitting at the base of the Parthenos, and walked over sitting down next to her. "Hey, it's September, right?" she asked, feeling bad for not really knowing her sister's name.

"Yeah, you're Brianna right?" September asked still looking at the sky.

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri nodded. "But most people call me Bri", she explained, smiling. "Whatcha thinking about?" she asked, looking up at the sky as well.

[rhi]

"I'm just thinking about my sister." September replied starting to look sad.

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri furrowed her eyebrows. "Is she my sister too, or is she related to you on your dad's side?" she asked, not aware that September had a sister.

[rhi]

"She's your half sister and my full sister. But not many people know that so please don't tell anyone." September replies.

Bri nodded. "Of course", she agreed. "I won't say anything".

[rhi]

They sit in silence for a few minutes. "Do you have any siblings?" September asks, breaking the silence.

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri shook her head. "Apart from my half-siblings, like you", she answered. "But I have friends who are basically like siblings to me", she added, grinning.

[rhi]

"Our cabin is so crowded. I never get time to think in there. That's why I come here." September said, looking back up at the sky.

Bri laughed, nodding. "I get what you mean", she said, then looked around quickly. "Our mum has a lot of kids", she whispered, hoping that Athena hadn't heard. But then she heard the sky rumble, and she rolled her eyes.

"You should come join me sometimes." September says, looking at Bri.

Bri smiled, looking back at her sister. "Yeah, I just might", she responded, brushing some of her dark hair off her shoulder.

September sat for a while thinking of what to say next. "How long have you been here at CHB?" September asks when she finally decides what to say.

Bri thought, and then answered. "Uh, about three years, I think. What about you, how long have you been here?" she said.

[rhi]

"Around ten years," September replied.

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri gasped, her eyes widening. "Wow, that's a long time. You must have been here since you were what, five? My gods", she reacted, surprised.

[rhi]

"Yeah, and the worst part about it is that my sister was only 3, and our dad didn't even realize that we had run away," September replied, looking around trying not to look at her half-sister.

Bri put an arm around September, smiling sadly. "I'm so sorry", she said.

[rhi]

"No, it's okay. You should be sorry for my sister, not me." September says.

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri nodded. "Still, it would have been hard for you. I don't know if I could have done it", she admitted, shrugging.

[rhi]

"Well it's the only thing we could have done." September says, starting to feel uncomfortable.

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri took her arm away, giving her sister a sympathetic smile. "But I guess you're here now, so that's all that matters", she pointed out.

[rhi]

"Yeah, I guess." September said, calming down a little bit.

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri smiled, turning to look at September. "So, what were you going to do today?" she asked.

[rhi]

"I'm not sure," September looked at her sister, "I'm probably going to be hanging out with Val."

[beth, Daughter of Aphrodite]

Bri nodded. "Well, I should probably get going. Say hi to Val for me, yeah?" she said, standing up and brushing the grass off her jeans.

[rhi]

"Yeah, sure. I should probably get going too." September said as she stood up.

Bri began walking off, then paused and turned back to September. "I'll see you around", she said, and with that, she turned back around again and walked away.

[rhi]

"Yeah, I'd better go and see how Val's doing now," September thought to herself out loud as she began to walk off.

Jayden sat under the goddess statue's disapproving gaze with a guitar on his knee as he sung the song, "Singing in the Rain." He glanced up at the Athena Parthenos once in a while as if half trying to see if the goddess' expression would change.

Gale was walking towards the statue of the goddess of wisdom, she had a basket under each arm and another on her head. She was bringing an offering to her, as a thank you for answering her prayers about having guidance on taking care of her two trouble makers.

Jayden strummed a few chords as accompaniment as he sang. Truthfully, he had just started taking lessons from his friend Bennett about a month ago. He was a quick learner in most things he set his mind to.

Gale's tail twitched as she walked it coming into view, she heard a voice singing and about ten feet away was a boy playing the guitar. She stopped to listen watching from a distance.

Jayden continued singing, not noticing the pretty cervitaur walking towards the statue.

"Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
I'm happy again!
I'm laughing again!
I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain!
I'm dancin' and singin' in the rain..."

Gale felt an itch in her nose and after a moment of fighting sneezed causing her to drop a basket and the one on her head to drop and spill. "Oops..." she mumbled as she kneeled down on her front two legs to pick the fruit and olives up.

Jayden's blond head snapped up at the sudden sneeze and thump of something being dropped. He nearly dropped the guitar he had been playing, which would not have been too good. Bennett had lent his treasured instrument to him and Bennett would not have the money to replace it.

Mumbling in fluent Greek as Gale picked everything up. Strawberries, olives, and a few other things were on the ground and she was having a hard time getting to reach them all.

Jayden put the guitar down on its side before and walking over to where the other foods were on the ground. He picked up a few strawberries that had started rolling downhill. "Hey, you dropped these," he said, placing them back in one of the baskets.

Gale smiled at him "Thanks," she said grateful that he was helping.

"You're welcome," Jayden said, offering her a friendly smile before walking away to pick up other fresh produce she had dropped.

Gale stood after grabbing the baskets helping him "I'm Gale, and for your help you can have the small basket when it's full," she said setting one of the larger baskets down by the goddesses feet.

"I am Jayden from the Notus cabin," Jayden said. "Oh, there is no need. I should not take from your offering to Athena." He glanced up at the statue, half expecting her to scold him. "I can grow my own fruit. Kind of grew up growing my own anyways."

"Ah right you are a son of the summer bringer, gardening is in your blood," Gale said shaking blowing aside a stray piece hair that escaped from the braid it was woven into.

Jayden picked up the now full small basket and carried it to the statue. He placed it beside the other two baskets. "Yeah, but I never particularly liked staying in one place for too long."

Gale nodded some what understanding "And with you being a demigod you can't stay in one place for long unless it's camp that is," she said.

Jayden chuckled lightly. "Yeah, that's true too," he said, "but not quite what I meant."

Gale nodded "I know what you meant, but you not being able to is true as well," she said with a smile plopping a olive in her mouth and looking at the statue as if to say 'You have plenty my lady.'
