I read the original Millennium trilogy/Lisbeth Salander novels but I wasn't a devoted fan. With that in mind, I didn't notice a change in the storylines with the change in author. There is perhaps more attention paid to the characters' histories and how they impact their current actions and frames of mind.

Blomvkist is in a bit of a rut and Millennium is there with him. Salander has been out of touch for a while, engrossed in her own investigation into the criminal network associated with her family. Her sister is investigating Lisbeth in return. All their lives collide when a brilliant AI researcher is murdered and his autistic son dangerously left behind. Throw in the American NSA, the Swedish security services and police and the story, for both Blomkvist and the reader, is full of excitement and intrigue.
