These categories drive me crazy. If you have a teenage protagonist and/or a coming of age story, you kind of have to advertise your book as "YA," regardless of whether the language is college-level and the themes and jokes multi-layered. IMO officially categorizing these books as to age level is misleading, because there is no "14 and up" shelf.
