I can't even imagine being brave enough to 'come out' at age 14! Just thinking back to when I was in school and the assholes that would have made his life hell. Sad!

Is it really that normal for kids to explore with their own gender during middle school/high school? Especially boys? I never did but maybe I was just too boy crazy to even contemplate it. I dunno. Or maybe my school was too small and not a lot of these type of shenanigans happened? Or like most things, I was just oblivious and in my own little world. I went to a larger school my freshman year and actually saw my fist gay boy. He dressed like a girl. As an adult I've seen and met plenty but just not in school, ya know. Even as a kid, I knew gay adults but they not any kids or even young adults. My dad was gay. I found out when I was visiting him one summer and decided to snoop and found a bunch of dirty gay magazines. I was 12 and suddenly things started making sense, lol. I never said anything until I got home to ask my mom. Just wondering how naive I was during school, lol.

Anywho, back to the book. Ben just crashed into Tim and is taking him to the hospital. It seems like Tim might be an ass if he's running with the bully crowd. We shall see.

I mean, I don't blame him, I guess, if he's still trying to decide how he feels but poor Ben is so desperate for him that he'll take any scrap he can get. I dunno, I guess we'll see. (hide spoiler)]

Ugh, I just want this to be over! Lol. It's not that it's terrible or anything, I just don't care about either of these characters. I have zero connection to them.

He goes to Jace's apartment with food and Tim fucking answers the door! Is this going to be a Fatal Attraction thing? That's just too much! (hide spoiler)]

Okay... I've made it up to part 2 in Chicago. I'll attempt to reply to all your spoilers with my two cents.

1. The narrator: he's okay but I kind of agree with you on his Allison's voice. It just sounds off and totally awkward.

2. I'm not sure if it's "normal" to explore when your younger. I know I never did. I'm 100% straight and never even thought about it. I at least was exposed to gay people very young since my mother's best friend was in a long term relationship with another woman. So I honestly don't ever remember thinking it wasn't normal that some people prefer others of their own gender. But like you said, I can't remember ever meeting anybody younger that was gay. Or I should say that was out because chances are there have been many throughout my life but I just never knew. I just hope that society has changed enough by the time my own kids are of the age to know who they are that they wouldn't have a second thought of hiding it. Plus I hope that as a parent I have showed them how much they are loved no matter what so that if one of them is gay they would not hesitate to come to me with any thoughts or questions. When did you finally bring it up with your dad? How did that conversation go?

3. Ben was a little creepy weird at first but honestly, I wasn't bothered by it. He is 16 with a crush. Teens are weird like that.

4. Tim is an asshole but I kind of like assholes in my MM. It's a problem :/

5. Allison's dad is a piece of shit. I can't even fathom abusing my children no matter what they did.

6. Ben's mom encouraging sex... Well I'm not sure how to feel about this. I don't think she was encouraging per se. More like making sure he is safe if he is being sexually active. Because honestly, if a teen wants to have sex they will. No matter what their parent's say. If I had any inkling at all that my oldest was even THINKING about having sex I would make sure she knew how to be safe and I'd probably get her some kind of birth control. Not because I condone her being sexually active but because I just want her safe from something she'll do no matter what if that is what she really wanted.

86%- Poor Jace. He's really getting the shaft in this situation. And not the good kind. I'm so glad he gets his own book in this series because he deserves his HEA.

And Tim. Gah. He is making it extremely difficult to root for him

Finished. And honestly... I don't even know what to say. I really liked it... at first. I'm not a fan of books where the MCs split up and move on to other people and fall in love again before coming back together all in one book. I don't mind it if the past happened before the beginning of the book but that's obviously not what happened here. I'm not even sure if I want to read the next 2 books because it will be the same story but from a different POV. I don't think I am emotionally strong enough for that shit.

Lol, yeah that's pretty much how I felt. That ending pissed me off! I won't be continuing the series, especially since it's the same story told by different pov. I know there will be more to it and all that but I honestly don't care. I just never really liked Ben or Tim and then the thing with Jace- nope! I didn't hate them but I didn't really like them either. But I'm glad it's not haunting my TBR anymore!
