I've had this on my list forever! I'm so glad to finally be reading it. It's been recommended to me so many times. It better be good!
I'll be starting this tomorrow evening. I have a 2 hour road trip to take and I want to make a dent in this audio since it's one of the longest I have to listen to this month. I know you are booked so I don't expect you to be able to start right now. But I just thought I'd let you know
That's pretty amazing actually. You see, I had just decided that I wanted to start this tomorrow, lol. I was just about to post about it.
Well I decided to start the book while I cleaned my house this morning23%... I admit I just jumped on this book because a) I can't resist a horror/sci-fi/dystopian book that does not have romance as a main tag and b) the price w/audio was super cheap at the time of your request. I didn't even read the synopsis before pressing play. So it's a bit of a downer to realize this more a political book than a zombie ass kicking book. But so far I don't hate it. Yet. I'll check in when I'm a little further into it :)
I've barely started! And my husband wants to go to dinner and rent movies tonight. I'm going to be slow but I'll get there, lol.I'm only to the part where they hopped in the van and took off. Practically the beginning, lol.
I didn't realize this was going to be a political book. I knew they were bloggers but I thought there would still be a lot of zombie action. Hmm, that is a bit of a downer. I wanted Zombies!! I'm hoping that I still like it though. It's been recommended to me so many times and I'm using it for SOS Bingo.
I do think this is an interesting take on Zombies so far though. That they were both born after the outbreak start and that people live in safe zones as an everyday thing. Life with Zombies for over 20 years.
Oh em gee! This is fucking boring. I don't care about news feeds and ratings. I want Zombies! Something better start happening. Unfortunately, I have to finish it or our team might lose and I don't want that on my shoulders, lol.I'm only at 22%....
I have 1 hour 20 minutes left of the audio Don't read this spoiler until you are caught up. MAJOR spoilers in this spoiler(view spoiler)
Well as long as you don't care about major spoilers then go ahead. I know I would read it but I love spoilers. I refused to even start The Fault in Our Stars and Me Before You until somebody told me exactly how they ended. Lol
Yeah, I'm a peeker too :) I have not looked at your spoiler yet, but I doubt I'll make it very long, lol.
The last 28 minutes is a bunch of acknowledgements and shit. So the book ends at that point. I'm rating it a 2. It just took too long to get exciting and for a book over 500 pages I need more than that to stay interested. If I was actually reading it instead of listening then I would have marked it DNF a long time ago. I liked Shaun's character though so I might be interested in at least giving book 2 a shot. Eventually.
Oh no. I was hoping it would get better. I'm about halfway now. Time to speed it up a notch and just get through it.
Okay, I'm FINALLY finished! It did get better once they hit the road and people started dying, lol. I was a little shocked that Georgia was killed but at that point I was ready for them all to die. It was a fucking zombie book! I thought it was okay- gave it 3 stars. But it was just too slow and I didn't care about all that rating crap. I'll probably skip the next one. I liked Shaun and his story will probably have more action but....And now after reading 2 YA books I'm ready for some cock and balls, lol. I need to read How to Howl at the Moon for 2 challenges and I can start The Dom Who Loved Me tomorrow. If things work out, I would love to read How To Be A Normal Person after that.
Lol @ready for them all to die. And I'm always ready for cock and balls! I'll be reading The Dom Who Loved Me with you. And I'm excited about Normal Person. Hopefully we will be able to squeeze it in this month!
Well, you see, I need it for a challenge. I have to spell O.W.L.S. with the title words. So, it's an almost guarantee. If by some miracle that we get caught up with our SOS Bingo reviews AND our winning shelf is called- I'll have to put it aside until I finish that. But that's a lot of if's :) I was going to read In the Middle of Somewhere for the OWLS but I think I would like to read that one more.
