Connie (cjreynolds52) | 25 comments I don't remember the author or book names. If you can help me with any one, I can find the rest.
I read this trilogy over 4 years ago. The covers used to be yellow with titles, names and cover art in black.

The first book concerns 2nd amendment rights. The vice-president is corrupt and is setting his sights on the presidency on changing the gun rights. It starts with a young man who stops in a gun shop and discovers the owner dead. The middle is blurry but I do remember the gun shop owner's daughter and the young man getting together. The VPs bad guy actually killed the gun shop owner to get more leverage for his agenda.

The second book starts with the young woman, very pregnant, sailing back to the US with a character from the first book. He is a grizzly Vietnam war veteran. They want her baby born in the States. The corrupt VP is now president. She is arrested and sent to a work camp, I think in Arizona, somewhere very hot. Her baby is adopted by a FBI or CIA agent and his wife. The woman finally escapes the camp goes in search of her son. The president has his go-to bad guy working on finding her. The president has issued a new Constitution. The country is disintegrating.

In the third book, the country has disintegrated into a survialist place to live. Goods are bartered with other goods and gold or silver. Currency is meaningless. Because the current armed forces cannot be depended upon to follow all orders, the President hires mrecenaries from Europe and Russia. A large portion of the southwest and Mexico is trying to succeed into a new country. The mercinaries go into a small town, arrest everyone at the Saturday flea market, load them into buses, take them to a long ditch where they shot everyone. They then bury them.
Lots of people are living in internment camps.

These are the parts I remember. Any questions may shake loose something else. You can see why I want to re-read them. Thank you all for your help.

Was it Christian fiction? Author male or female? Mainstream publisher or indie/self-published?

Connie (cjreynolds52) | 25 comments Sorry my mind works in pieces. In the second book, the Feds wife is killed. He will do anything for his son. The mother of the child will do anything to get the child back.

In the 3rd book a recording of the mercenaries killing all those innocents falls into the hands of the grizzled Vietnam Vet. He arranges to meet with some high ranking officers over poker. They vow to return the Country to the original Constitution. Reciting the original pledge to protect our country from enemies foreign and domestic.

Connie (cjreynolds52) | 25 comments author was male. I wouldn't consider it Christian. No sex but teeming with violence and an under-current of right vs wrong.
