From what I recall they rarely do during Uno unless it's the end of Uno wrapping up, and Uno has only gone by a month
Not wanting to disturb anyone, or set the circus on fire or anything, but once upon a time, there wasn't a set schedule for NBRC's team challenges. There were years with two tower editions, and years without either towers nor wheels.Even the starting months could vary.

I don't see a history of two towers in the same year with the hall of fame (what a fun year that would have been if so) and know there were some years it was skipped a few times. I don't see an issue with members who are excited and used to it being yearly inquiring in this thread sometimes. If anything, this should be as a positive sign of support that they like the challenge.

Towers 2 started in April, if memory doesn't fail me and lasted... the rest of the year, I think. We had two read-a-thons for that edition, one in May and one for Halloween. It was fun, but *very* intense.

My pleasure :o)
Oh yes that first two towers were never ending 🤭 cupcakes got introduced for TTII just to try and finish it up and then people would get annoyed as they wanted to read and not do puzzles ☺️ #funtimes

yes, it became crazy town! I remember wanting to throw my laptop a few times rather than complete another puzzle. haha

Eni loved the puzzles.I basically ignored the cupcakes. But then again. My team kept being torn to pieces to form another ones, at least till the banana one being so behind that I finally got a team with enough members. LOL.
I enjoyed the puzzles.
Think that challenge I went from being a late addition to team co-captain in the space of a couple of weeks so don't envy those of you trying to keep the teams slightly balanced and afloat.

Betelgeuse. Betelgeuse. Betelgeuse.Or if you wish...

Mayhem, chaos and michael keaton, I'm guessing... 😆
OK. Looking at the picture in the newsletter, I am guessing no on the space opera theme.A relay race through the countryside? A take on Stephen King's The Long Walk?
The Tour de France?
Racing lanes on a country road. I am stumped.

Sonia, do you remember all of our yummy men in uniform pics for Team Cadet Blue? :D
Sophie wrote: "TBF there were a lot of cupcake variations with different sizes etc."All those cupcakes did was make me crave cupcake after cupcake! For someone with my user name, it's very hard to resist those kinds of cravings LOL

Judith wrote: "Maybe it’s jet pack racing through the country. I hear that’s going to be the next big thing"I want a jet pack!!!! Are you guys passing them out? Selling them? Just being mean?
Wizard of Oz - yellow brick road?!? Relay Racing around the World?!
I’m excited to see what it could be :)
Our towers don't tend to directly attack each other but you probably could do a tower defense game with books
For some reason my first thought was The Hobbit/LOTRbut interestingly (even though I don't think this has to do with, but maybe? 👀):
"As "Oz" is also a nickname for Australia, phrases like "down the yellow brick road" are sometimes used to mean "in Australia"
What do you call it when there is a dirt racing track (with lanes) out in the rolling hills / countryside during Robin Hood's or medieval times.... setting for a renaissance fair...I doubt that, since I don't know where the defenses would be needed!
Talking of ongoing challenges and UNO.. if there were a kind volunteer to participate in the ongoing UNO challenge to help out a Team over at The Perks Of Being A Book Addict, please message me. :)

Melindam, I am interested in participating in Uno, but your profile says you aren't accepting messages! I've missed team challenges the past couple of years and I'm trying to get back into some!
GR can be funny about messaging so you might need to add MelM as a friend first then message once she's accepted.
Christina wrote: ""preparing the arena ..." - "the games will begin ..." 👀"I'm also here because of that message! Can it be that Tower Teams will start soon again??
Pretty sure there is a cow in the new image. And fog. And a hut of some type. Highland cow tipping, team-style?
I got nothing.
You can't tip a shaggy (aka highland cow)! their horns would get stuck in the earth and they'd be in a permanent side-plank! silly person!
Cat wrote: "You can't tip a shaggy (aka highland cow)! their horns would get stuck in the earth and they'd be in a permanent side-plank! silly person!"Yeah, but it is a fun visual.
I seem to remember a lot of Hunger Games talk... is it Hunger Games, because I might die. ...literally?
I'm still outraged at Jenny wanting to cow-tip a shaggy!
and am perfectly able to ignore W-nonsense
