Should I read this?

I loved it. What I didn't like is that the series is not finished so when book two comes out I will have to re read book one again (I'm overly forgetful). If you don't mind that, then go for it. Feel free to check out my review it's spoiler free.

Yes, it's great.

Its fabulous! Sarah J. Maas is a phenominal writer.

IT'S A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

yes!!! the earth commands it !

I wrote a summary of this books along time ago. But I can give you some outliners/points.
1)Has really intense new-adult steamytimes. If that sort of stuff repels you--I would avoid this. Or maybe skim through certain parts of the book. It's on the less graphic side of the New Adult section. (But still graphic for young adult).
Overall, it's very sensual and a wee bit too liberal for certain people.
2) The book is written in first person.
BUT, it is one of the most lyrical and poetic books I have read in a while. The words and world-building flow really easily and subtly once you get out of the info-dumping in the first few chapters.
3) There are some cliches. The whole concept of 'love' is a big deal in this book.
4) There is an absence of cliches. I didn't know that this was a retelling when I first read it. And I didn't even realize it was one until I read some of the reviews on here.
5) There are plot twists. I won't say anything more. Just know that everything will eventually start to make sense.
My best advice would be to go in not knowing as much as you do. If you like high fantasy with tinges of romance--you might find yourself really liking it.
