Does everybook have a character who writes or reads?

Hey Guys!

I was having a conversation with some fellow Bookstagramers and I realized that it seems like a majority of books have Characters who are readers or writers.

Have you noticed this?

I think that authors would think that reading is an essential part of everyone's lives and naturally they would want their charater(s) to be readers.

Make sense?

I have certainly noticed this! I feel like a good majority of books that I read have at least one character who is an avid reader and/or writes in some way, shape or form. I think it makes sense for a few reasons- authors also tend to write what they know, and authors love to read and write!

Yes! I always notice that! I was just thinking the same thought few days ago. I was just finished All The Light We Cannot See, the main character is a reader, same thing also with the Book Thief, Liesel also a reader.

I'm currently reading three books

A Brief History of Seven Killings
I Am a Cat
Breakfast of Champions

And so far, only on "I am a Cat" a character reads and writes.
On "Breakfast of Champions" I haven't found a character who reads/writes so far.
And on "A Brief History of Seven Killings" only journalists write, though.

But yes, most of the books I've read so far, especially, write.
