in what seems like another realm, story based around a boy trying to become a hero. Fantasy. The boy is in a land with halls and holds, he sets out on a journey to become a hero. On his journey he comes upon a shack. In this realm they're cut off from the outside world by giant stones that supposedly protect them, close to the end of the book it's revealed these stones actually hold the spirits of their ancestors. Besides the stones and ancestor part I can't remember much, the story and character development is amazing. I think it's a coming of age ceremony. I'm sure he meets a girl as well along his travels. I read this book about 5-6 years ago and it seemed new then.
